17 Days ‘Til Christmas! 🎄🎅✨

As we get closer to the holidays, a friendly reminder that Collective Care Supports will be closed from Monday 22nd December and will reopen on Monday 5th January 2026. If you haven’t already, now is the time to ensure your supports are organised for the holiday period and to let your support providers know if you won’t require your usual supports so arrangements can be adjusted smoothly.

Today, on International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), we recognise the importance of inclusion, visibility, and the incredible contributions people with disability make to our communities. 💙

IDPwD is about raising awareness, challenging assumptions, and celebrating diversity — values we’re proud to champion every day. 🙌

This year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve shared with our clients. From personal milestones and newfound independence to creativity, confidence, community participation, and moments of pure joy — each achievement reminds us of the strength and individuality within our community.

Disability Myth-Buster 👊

🚫Myth: Inclusion is only about ramps and accessibility.
✅Fact: Inclusion goes far beyond physical access. It’s about attitudes, communication, and opportunities.

Creating an inclusive community means:
• Listening and asking people what they need instead of assuming.
• Using clear, respectful language.
• Making sure everyone has opportunities to participate and contribute.
• Designing environments — online, in workplaces, and in social spaces — that welcome everyone.

A week to Celebrate!🥳

Disability Action Week (23rd - 30th of Nov 2025) is a time to recognise the strength, inclusion and contribution of people with disability in our community. It’s all about encouraging access, celebrating diversity and taking meaningful action to create a more inclusive future for everyone. 🙌

This year there are some fantastic events happening across the Sunshine Coast, supported by Sunshine Coast Council. From accessible beach days to creative workshops, film screenings, meditation sessions and more, there’s something for everyone to get involved in. 🤩
