VACANCY – Registered Nurse (Flexible Part-Time)
Disability & Aged Care Support Role
Caresiah | Ballarat & Surrounds
Approx. 25 hours per week plus shared 1 in 3 after-hours phone support
Permanent Part-Time
Caresiah is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in a flexible and supportive role assisting participants across disability and aged care services.
This opportunity would suit a nurse looking for balanced hours, meaningful work, and the chance to use their clinical skills in a practical community-based setting without the intensity of hospital shift work.
The successful applicant will be supported by our Senior Clinical Registered Nurse and Health Care Manager, with shared responsibility across a collaborative leadership team.
This role is based in Ballarat and may particularly suit someone seeking school hours, family-friendly arrangements, or a more sustainable pace of work.
Some tasks will be completed onsite and from our Smythesdale office, with a range of administrative and coordination duties able to be completed from home where suitable.
About the Role
As a Registered Nurse with Caresiah, you will provide clinical support and care coordination across a portfolio of participants, helping ensure services are safe, well-organised, and delivered in line with relevant disability and aged care standards.
You will work alongside support workers, families, allied health professionals, and external clinicians to assist with participant wellbeing, care planning, staff guidance, and general clinical oversight.
This role also includes participation in a shared 1 in 3 on-call rotation, providing phone guidance to support workers after hours when required.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with participant clinical reviews and care planning
• Monitor participant wellbeing and escalate concerns where required
• Support staff with safe delivery of participant health-related supports
• Provide guidance regarding medication systems and documentation
• Assist with clinical paperwork, registers, and compliance records
• Support training and mentoring of support workers
• Liaise with families, allied health, GPs, and external providers as needed
• Help maintain service quality and participant safety
• Provide after-hours phone support as part of a shared roster
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused workplace culture
About You
You are a calm, capable nurse who enjoys helping others and working in a collaborative environment.
You may be looking for a role that offers flexibility, purpose, and a healthier long-term balance while still using your professional skills.
You will demonstrate:
• Current nursing knowledge and sound clinical judgement
• Good communication and relationship-building skills
• Confidence working independently with support available
• Ability to guide and support frontline staff
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• A practical and caring approach to service delivery
Experience in disability, community, or aged care is highly regarded but not essential.
Essential Requirements
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor of Nursing
• Current First Aid and CPR
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Police Check
• Working With Children Check (if applicable)
• Current driver licence
Why Join Caresiah
• Flexible permanent part-time opportunity
• Ideal for nurses seeking school hours or lifestyle balance

• Mix of onsite, office, and work-from-home tasks
• Meaningful work supporting people in the community
• Stable hours with growing organisation
• Ongoing professional development opportunities
