Djapana Cares Community charity group, small town library and community resource centre coming soon. Market stall combines selling with community information and support

Djapana Cares is a community charity group aimed at encouraging people to use their skills in various crafts, as well as in recycling (ie sprucing up preloved cuddly toys etc) and getting them to people in need. We will also soon be opening up a Community Library and Resource Centre, and we have a fairly regular information(flyers and other information on health services and support, networking mainly in the mental health field and sales table at local markets and car boot sales. The items sold are donated for that purpose and make enough money to cover the fees. Some of our targets are Domestic Violence Refuges, psychiatric wards (mainly activity/craft project packs), and the victims of the Australian Goverments misguided Intervention. We will also be helping remote communities with anything we can get donated, some are very poor and have almost no shops, so what they are able to buy is limited not only by choice, but by exorbitant travel costs (imagine if you had to use half your pension to chip in to charter a plane to go and spend the remaining half, after food and essential living expenses, how much would be left for luxuries like clothing and toys for the kids? These are the people we want to help. The Red Cross sent care packages to people during the Wars, well we aim to do the same thing. APRIL 🌹🌷🌼

I feel the year has finally begun. I have a freshness inside, a new awareness of myself and a lightness in my heart. My Soul longs to sing in a new language, with my new voice, yet I am shy to share my song with others. For now, I will find contentment in the details of my day and sing my song to myself. In quiet moments, in good company where I feel safe, I may whisper a verse or hum a bar or two. I know, deep in my centre, that this song is good because it’s mine. It’s still developing within me. I long to hear it. I will sing it loud and strong to myself. Just knowing it’s there makes me stronger. When it’s complete and bursting to come out into the world, I will set it free.
