Saying no without guilt.

Many women struggle with this one.

We’ve been taught to be helpful, accommodating, and available - often at the expense of our own wellbeing.

But every time you say yes when your body is quietly saying no, it costs you energy.

Saying no isn’t selfish.

It’s a boundary that protects your time, your nervous system, and your emotional capacity.

A gentle reframe:

Every no is also a yes
- to your wellbeing
- to your rest
- to what truly matters.

Start small.

You don’t need to justify your boundaries.
A simple, kind “That doesn’t work for me right now” is enough. 🌿

What’s one thing you could gently decline this week to protect your energy?

How do we actually create a fuller life?

Not the “perfect” life we see online - but a life that feels meaningful, steady, and aligned with who we really are.

One framework I often return to comes from The Happiness Lab and the work of Dr Judith Joseph. It’s called the 5 Vs Framework - five simple pathways that support emotional wellbeing and long-term happiness.

The five pillars are:

✨ Validation – acknowledging how you truly feel
✨ Venting – releasing emotions safely
✨ Values – reconnecting with what matters most
✨ Vitals – caring for the body you live in
✨ Vision – planning small moments of joy and hope

We don’t need to master all five at once. Often the place we feel stuck is simply showing us where our attention is needed most.

If you're feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure where to start - this framework can be a gentle place to begin.

I've written a new blog exploring each of these pathways and how they support emotional wellbeing.

🌿 You can read it here

Which of these 5 areas do you feel needs the most attention in your life right now?

You don’t have to figure it all out alone.

Ever feel emotionally flat but you’re not sure why?

Disconnection is not failure - it's information.

Feeling numb, flat, or a little checked out lately?
Your nervous system might simply be asking for reconnection.

Reconnection to yourself.
To nature.
To safe, supportive people.

So many women I work with have spent years holding everything together for everyone else. Eventually the body responds with exhaustion, overwhelm, or emotional shutdown.

That doesn’t mean you’re broken.
It often means your system is tired.

In our sessions together, we gently explore what helps your system feel safe again - whether that’s grounding, breathwork, movement, stillness, or simply being heard without judgement.

Safety isn’t just a mindset.
It’s something the body needs to feel. 💛

What small moment today could help you reconnect to yourself?

Maybe it’s stepping outside for a few quiet breaths.
Maybe it’s a walk, a cup of tea in silence, or simply placing a hand on your heart and pausing for a moment.

Small moments matter.

And if you’re feeling disconnected more often than not, you don’t have to navigate that alone. 🌿

Last week I became completely absorbed in creating my own set of 'Balanced Life' Tarot cards.

When I wasn’t at work, I was deep in the process.
Designing, Refining. Reworking
Hours would pass without me noticing.

I’ve always recognised that when something captures my interests, I can become very single-minded. Research shows neurodivergence often runs in families, and while I’ve never been formally diagnosed, I recognise traits in myself - particularly that deep ability to hyper-focus.

I was chatting with another business woman this week (who is diagnosed AuDHD), and we laughed about how easy it is to wake up, open Canva and disappear for hours down that creative rabbit hole.

It was validating to know I’m not alone in that.

But as a holistic counsellor, I also know this:

When I stop my grounding practices, I feel it.

When journalling slips.
When Qigong pauses.
When routine disappears.

My nervous system notices.

So on Sunday, I made a conscious decision to pause the project - return to myself and my family.

I went to my pod.
Drank my lemon water.
Practiced Qigong.
Journalled.

And I felt steadier.

Interestingly, for a bit of fun (and this card is definitely not one of my Balanced Life Tarot Cards 😁), I turned one of my photos into a Tarot image - and it became Temperance.

Balance. Integration. Moderation.

It felt like a quiet nudge.

Passion is beautiful.
But rhythm sustains it.

Sometimes self-leadership looks like stepping away from what you love - so you can return to it grounded.

And as for my Balanced Life Tarot Deck....it's still unfolding, slowly and intentionally.

Stay tuned. 🌿

Menopause is not “just life.” And it’s not something you’re meant to navigate alone.

Recent Australian research shows that some women are missing work - and even leaving paid work - because of menopausal symptoms.

But behind that research are real women.

Women trying to sleep through the night.
Women pushing through brain fog.
Women wondering why their anxiety feels different.
Women telling themselves they should be coping better.

So many are doing this quietly.

Not because they aren’t strong.
But because this stage of life still isn’t spoken about openly.

As a holistic counsellor, I sit with women in this season often.
And what they usually need isn’t fixing.

It’s space.
To speak honestly.
To feel understood.
To realise they are not overreacting - and not alone 💜

If you’re navigating subtle changes in sleep, mood, confidence or energy…
What kind of support would make the biggest difference for you right now?

These conversations don’t just belong in workplaces.
They belong in our homes, friendships and communities too 🌿

Some days we manage work, family, and life beautifully.
Other days feel messy, full and stretched.

Real balance isn't about doing everything well.
It's about meeting the day as it is.

It's allowing yourself to breathe instead of striving.

If balance feels out of reach, it might not be you - it might just be the pace you're trying to keep up with. 🌿

What part of your day today could you soften instead of perfect?

I used to think a “good morning routine” had to look impressive.

Now I know it just needs to feel grounding.

Sometimes that’s journaling.
Sometimes it’s a short, gentle practice of QiGong - slow, mindful movement that helps settle my nervous system before the day begins.
Sometimes it’s simply not reaching for my phone straight away.

The way we begin our morning quietly shapes how we move through the rest of our day.

It doesn’t have to be long.
It just needs to be intentional.

What’s one small habit you could gently introduce tomorrow?

You’re the glue. The organiser, the fixer, the emotional load carrier.

But when do you get to fall apart a little?

That’s what I offer - a space to pause.

Online, in person or out on a walk - it’s your space, and it’s about time you had one. 💛

If you’ve been holding things together for too long, this may be your reminder that you don’t have to.

After co-hosting a Women's Connection event yesterday - which was overall a beautiful success - I found myself lying in bed last night replaying everything.

The wins.
The tiny hiccups.
The moments I wished had flowed differently.

Sound familiar?

It was close to midnight.
My brain was still “on.”

Instead of letting it swirl around in my head, I did what I always encourage the women in our community to do…

I brain dumped.

Not a polished reflection.
Not a perfect social media caption.
Just raw, messy, honest notes.

And here’s why that matters:

✨ It clears mental clutter
When you’ve held space for others, coordinated logistics, managed energy and emotions - your brain is full. Brain dumping moves the noise from your head onto paper.

✨ It separates fact from feeling
In your head, everything feels bigger. When you write it down, you can see clearly:

What actually happened?

What was simply a communication gap?

What was completely out of your control?

✨ It captures lessons while they’re fresh
There is gold in the “hiccups.”
But only if you pause long enough to reflect on them.

✨ It protects your confidence
Without processing, our brains default to self-criticism.
With processing, we see the full picture:

The room worked beautifully.
The women connected.
The feedback was incredible.
And yes - there were operational tweaks.

Both can be true.

Brain dumping isn’t about complaining.
It’s about clarity.
It’s about growth.
It’s about leading yourself well.

So if you’ve had a big week, a tough conversation, an event, a launch, or even just an emotionally full day…

Grab a notebook.
Set a timer for 10 minutes.
Write without editing.

And if it’s midnight and your brain won’t switch off - find your version of a safe space to process 🧡

Your nervous system will thank you.
Your future self will thank you.
And your leadership will strengthen because of it 💜

A few weeks ago, I shared that Darren and I were stepping away from alcohol together.

Not because we were “broken.”
But because our bodies were asking for something different.

As the weeks passed, Darren didn’t really feel the difference.
He even joked that he felt more creative when he was drinking.

So the other night, he decided to have a few. Just four cans.
But after three weeks without drinking, those four cans hit hard.
The next day he felt awful and slept nearly the entire day.

And that was the moment.

No lecture.
No “I told you so.”
Just clear feedback from his body.

I also had a drink that night. It didn’t hit me the same way, but it didn’t give me anything either. I thought I’d enjoy it, but I didn’t really.
I woke with a slight headache and had to push myself to get up and get moving.

And more than anything, it reminded me of this:

I don’t need it.
It doesn’t add to my energy.
It takes from it.

Sometimes you don’t realise how little something gives you until you step away from it.

This journey isn’t about perfection.
It’s about awareness.

Noticing. Listening. Adjusting.

Still choosing change.
Still learning.
Still human 🤍

Peace isn’t found in the glass - it’s found in the pause.

Breathe. Release.
Begin again 🌿
