Curry Night Celebration - June 11,2025
Glengowrie recently enjoyed a vibrant evening celebrating Indian tradition with a special Curry Night! The atmosphere was filled with rich aromas and warm smiles as residents gathered to experience the bold and colourful flavours of India.
On the menu were two delicious curries: Beef Vindaloo and Fish Curry, served with soft naan bread and a refreshing side of tzatziki. To finish off the evening, residents indulged in a delightful mango sorbet topped with glazed cherries—a sweet ending to a flavour-packed night.
It was a wonderful celebration of culture, food, and community!

Biggest Morning Tea – A Huge Success!
A big thank you to everyone who attended the Biggest Morning Tea organised by our wonderful Resident Committee on May 13,2025. A special mention to Anne our Cook whose homemade scones were once again a crowd favourite—absolutely delicious as always! We were also treated to fantastic entertainment that added to the cheerful atmosphere. Our trade table featured a lovely selection of residents’ home-cooked biscuits, with all proceeds going to a very worthy cause.
Thanks to everyone’s support and generosity, we’re proud to announce that we raised a total of $1,100 for the Cancer Council.

We recently hosted a delightful Royal High Tea event, which was thoroughly enjoyed by our residents. An array of beautifully decorated sandwiches, slices, and cakes were served on elegant platters, creating a charming and festive atmosphere. I would like to extend a huge thank you to our fantastic Resident Committee and volunteers, who assisted with the set up and beautifully decorate the Community Centre. A special mention goes to Helen A, whose mars bar slice and chocolate cupcakes were an absolute treat—thank you for sharing your talents! The High Tea was a big hit, and it was heartwarming to see so many smiles around the room.

We recently enjoyed a wonderful evening with a wedding-themed dinner, celebrating love and tradition through the decades. The event featured a beautiful display of wedding dresses, bridesmaids’ outfits, and flower girl dresses from various years—each one telling a unique story of its time.
A special highlight was the stunning selection from Ivy’s Wedding Gown Collection, kindly shared by Gloria Ward’s mother. We’re incredibly grateful to all the lovely residents who generously shared their treasured garments and memories, making the night truly special.
Residents were treated to a delicious dinner prepared by our talented kitchen team, and the evening would not have been possible without the dedication of our hardworking staff, the supportive Residents’ Committee, and our wonderful volunteers. Thank you so much to everyone and for making the night special.

This Anzac Day, we come together to mark the 110th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing—one of our nation's most significant occasions. It is a day that holds deep meaning for many of our residents and their families as we reflect, remember, and honour the courage and sacrifice of our service men and women.

Their legacy lives on in the stories we share, the respect we show, and the gratitude we hold.

Lest we forget.
