Elbow pain slowing down your gains? 💪

If your elbows are sore after lifting, pressing, or pulling, you’re not alone. Elbow joint pain is a common hurdle for gym-goers and strength athletes - but it’s not something you should just push through!

Overuse, poor technique, or insufficient recovery can irritate the tissues around your elbow, causing stiffness, tenderness, or pain that lingers even after your workout.

Signs to watch for 👇

➡️ Dull or sharp ache on the inside or outside of your elbow
➡️ Pain during or after grip-heavy moves (pull-ups, kettlebell swings, snatches)
➡️ Reduced range of motion or weaker grip strength
➡️ Swelling or discomfort that affects daily life

Don’t let elbow pain hold you back. At Eramosa Physiotherapy we can assess, treat, and guide you back to pain-free training—so you can lift, move, and hit your goals safely.

Do your joints seem to complain more when the weather turns cold? You’re not imagining it.

Many people with arthritis report flare-ups in winter—but is it science or just a saying? 🤔

The answer: a little of both. Cold weather can make symptoms worse for some, while others feel no difference at all. Research points to factors like reduced movement, physical changes in the body, and even mindset.

Either way, it’s clear that many do experience more discomfort when the temperature drops ❄️

At Eramosa Physiotherapy, we look at the whole picture of joint health, with support including:

➡️ Physiotherapy to reduce pain, restore mobility, and build strength
➡️ Exercise physiology to design safe, effective movement programs
➡️ Myotherapy to release tension and improve soft tissue function
➡️ Sports & exercise medicine for expert diagnosis and advanced care
➡️ Dietitian guidance to manage inflammation with smarter nutrition

The best strategy? Keep moving! Exercise remains one of the most powerful tools for managing arthritis.

Whatever the season, our team is here to help you move with ease, feel stronger, and live better 💫

It’s a topic that doesn’t get much airtime among runners, but studies show that up to 30% of women experience urine leakage at some stage - about the same as in the general population 😪

This is called stress urinary incontinence, and while it’s far more common than most people realise, many women continue to put up with it quietly.

The positive news? There are proven ways to treat and manage it so you can keep running with confidence 👌

If this sounds familiar, don’t hold off - our experienced team at Eramosa Physiotherapy is here to help. You can book an appointment online today ➡️ https://www.eramosaphysiotherapy.com.au/

Ever felt a sharp twinge in your elbow after a day in the garden, carrying groceries, long hours at the keyboard, or a weekend game? 🙁

You might be dealing with golfer’s elbow or tennis elbow – and here’s the kicker: you don’t need to step foot on a golf course or tennis court to get them!

Both come from repetitive strain on the forearm muscles and tendons, but the pain shows up in different spots 👇

🎾 Tennis Elbow – pain on the outside of your elbow
🏌️‍♂️ Golfer’s Elbow – pain on the inside of your elbow

Leave them untreated and even everyday things like turning a door handle, lifting a kettle, or shaking hands can become a real challenge.

If these symptoms sound familiar, don’t wait until it gets worse. Early treatment makes a huge difference. Book your appointment online today 📲 https://www.eramosaphysiotherapy.com.au/

You crush a workout feeling unstoppable… but then, 24–48 hours later, your muscles remind you who’s boss 😪

That’s Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) - the ache and stiffness that hits after unfamiliar or intense exercise.

DOMS happens because tiny tears form in your muscle fibers during your workout. This micro-damage signals your body to repair and strengthen those muscles and it’s a key part of getting fitter and stronger 💪

But that soreness can slow you down, making everyday movements like climbing stairs, reaching for things, or even getting out of bed feel tough 🥴

So, how do you manage it?

✅ Gentle movement to keep muscles loose
✅ Proper hydration and nutrition to aid recovery
✅ Rest and sleep to let your body repair
✅ Targeted stretches and self-massage techniques

Curious for more expert tips on easing DOMS and speeding up recovery? Check out our full blog here 👉 https://www.eramosaphysiotherapy.com.au/tips-for-beating-post-workout-soreness/

Don’t let soreness hold you back - treat your muscles right and get ready to hit your next session even stronger! 🏋️‍♀️

Struggling with restless nights, poor-quality sleep, or full-blown insomnia? 😴

Missing out on those all-important 8 hours can affect more than just your mood - it impacts your whole body, from your brain to your immune system.

Here’s how poor sleep can take its toll 👇

🧠 Brain power: Reduced memory, focus, and emotional balance

💪 Physical performance: Slower muscle repair, higher injury risk, poor recovery

🫀 Long-term health: Increased risk of heart disease and diabetes

🤒 Immunity: Weakened defences against illness

🆙 Pain & mood: Higher pain sensitivity and greater risk of mood disorders

🏃‍♀️ Metabolism: Lower energy stores and slower muscle recovery

Research shows good sleep is vital for sports recovery, performance, and long-term health. If better sleep is on your to-do list, Eramosa Physiotherapy can help. Let’s work together to improve your rest, recovery, and overall wellbeing 💤

August marks Tradies National Health Month - a time to focus on the wellbeing of tradies everywhere. Whether you are one, work alongside one, or love one, this month is all about keeping our tradies strong, safe, and pain-free 🙂

Launched by the APA in 2012, TNHM raises awareness of the vital role physiotherapists play in helping prevent and manage the aches, pains, and injuries that come with physically demanding trades.

Research shows many tradies across Australia live with ongoing pain, which can affect their quality of life, reduce work performance, shorten careers, and contribute to the ongoing shortage of skilled tradespeople 🛠️

This August, let’s make health and safety on the tools a priority. Stay strong, stay mobile, and stay pain-free. Book an appointment today 📲 https://www.eramosaphysiotherapy.com.au/

Waking up to stabbing heel pain with your first few steps? 😖

You might be dealing with plantar fasciitis - a common foot condition that affects the band of tissue connecting your heel to your toes.

If mornings feel like you’re walking on pebbles, or your foot flares up after a run or a big day on your feet, it’s a sign your body’s asking for attention 👟

It can be brought on by things like tight calves, flat or high arches, or shoes that don’t give enough support. Ignore it, and that discomfort can stick around far longer than you’d like 👎

Who else was glued to the screen for Saturday’s epic Netball Grand Final, watching our very own Melbourne Vixens bring home the trophy?! 🏐🦊🏆

What a game! 🎉

It turned into a real physical battle (for a “non-contact” sport 😉), and we’re sure there’ll be some sore bodies after that clash.

Even with the best warm-up, netball injuries can happen - thanks to all the jumping, landing, pivoting, and sudden changes of direction. Whether you're just starting out, play socially, or compete at an elite level, a proper warm-up is essential to reduce your risk of injury and keep you out on court.

Build your strength and stability this netball season with Eramosa Physiotherapy - your knees and ankles will thank you for it! 🙌

Because the shoulder joint has such a wide range of motion, it’s more vulnerable to dislocations - whether partial or full.

Most often, it’s the front of the shoulder that takes the hit, and when it pops out of place, the ligaments holding it all together can get stretched or torn 😬

But how does it actually happen?

🚗 A hard knock or collision (think car accidents or contact sport)
🏐 Sports like footy, hockey, volleyball, skiing, or gymnastics
🪜 Everyday mishaps - falling awkwardly, tripping, or a sudden jolt

Once a shoulder dislocates, the chances of it happening again increases, unless you focus on building strength and stability through the right rehab.

That’s where we come in 💪 At Eramosa Physiotherapy, our expert team can guide you through the right exercises and recovery plan to help prevent future dislocations and get your shoulder feeling solid again.
