To Our Amazing Community,
SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY❤️❤️❤️❤️
You Know The Saying It Takes A Village......Well We Need You To Be Our Village!!!
Firstly, I apologize on the length of this post but please read through it all to get the depth and purpose of the request.
Sponsorship ideas could be tickets to local attractions, gift vouchers for food/ petrol/ Safeway/ Kmart/ Bunnings/ Coles ect , donations of extra bread, fruit or meat that local companies spare.
Tickets to local attractions, events, outings that usually these families would have to miss out on due to funding limitations.
Or you may be an individual that has specific skills that you could volunteer your time, sharing this experience, with someone that would be so appreciative and I’m sure you will get something out of it too. Obviously, safety screens will be done beforehand.
Plus, with Christmas just around the corner, ( I will not do massive food and present drives like I did in the past due to my medical issues).
But I do have some individuals & families I am helping out so this Christmas can be as special as it should be after all the years of lockdown. Realistically, I am open to hear of any idea that you may want to contribute to as anything is always helpful and goes such a long way. 🙏
Secondly, before you have already made your mind up and put this letter in the box dedicated to ‘we already have our sponsorships at capacity etc.’ I ask you please to read on before you make your mind up. I know time your time is precious, and I thank you for your dedication for getting through this much.
Surely, you are wondering what I am even asking for, who I am, what or how you your company could assist Peninsula Counselling & Care, well here it is……
Uniquely, with covid & my own health being extremely compromised over the last few years, life has been a battle not only for me but many, especially for small businesses.
Running a business and being a frontline worker in a pandemic with a broken foot for three years, having a staphylococcus infection that nearly resulted in an amputation of the foot & a near death experience, lets just say luck was not on my side. ‘Black Boot’, as my participants called it, is now just part of my everyday attire, I don’t even know if I have a ‘pair’ of shoes anymore lol.
Moving along, with life slowly coming back to a more ‘normal’ pace and everyone trying to get out of ‘reactive/crisis mode’. The effects of the pandemic will last a lifetime for many and throughout my therapy practice, I am seeing how some of the most complex cases of my career and how hard the fallout is hitting individuals and will continue to do so.
In addition, by helping my clients get their lives back on track and helping them find themselves, their values, their support systems, ‘Black Boot’ and I have been working on the same things.
That’s the thing with ‘Covid’, boundaries where broken, roles where blended, we all did what we could to survive something none of us was prepared for. We are all trying to find our 'new normal', balance, identity and priorities selfcare ( yes, that world that you need to keep reminding yourself to place back into your life.
Selfcare was not my priority and protectionism and the lack of ability to stop, slow down and balance life. I once again was going to learn the hard way.
Despite the fact things were just starting to pick up, I woke one morning with the worse pain in my life presenting in my back, running down my arm and hand. No not a heart attack, instead I had herniated two discs and have one is hitting my spinal cord, hence the lack of full movement and numbness in my left hand.
Under those circumstances, no one would blame me to throw it in but I am resilient & too stubborn!
I have shown my participants through my role modelling behaviour, how to focus on your strengths, to focus on what’s in your control & to only sit in the ‘sh*t’ for short amounts of time before addressing the previous points.
With some amazing surgeons helping me get back to functioning at my optimum best, I need your help as a community to help support the business, so I can assist others to function at their optimum best too!
We have so many new services, a vision of a wellness hub that is finally becoming a reality, that brings back the old intrinsic and extrinsic ways of holistically caring, empowering and advocating for individuals.
Focusing not only the individual but their systems, their supports, their connections, their ‘armies, so times of mis- communication, repetition, non-united staff/schools, and frustration are a thing of the past.
With five years of planning, twenty-two years working in the health sector and eleven years of post-educational studies that resulted in a HECS Debt that I will be paying off for the rest of my life, endless hours research, listening to the community needs and keeping up with all the NDIS and relevant sector changes.
Our new purpose-built office is nearly finished, new service methodologies and deliveries are in the final design stages, all new registrations are in the process, it's exciting times for not only us but you too!
Peninsula Counselling & Care is a small unique business, where you feel instantly relaxed with the laid-back nature, non-judgmental nature of the staff. Staff are not only highly educated and trained but also have lived experience so come from a place of empathy and depth being able to deliver and fulfil much needed service gaps.
Some of you may have heard of us when we ran the first ever Community Christmas Lunch on the Peninsula & fed and gave presents to hundreds, that where homeless or had nowhere else to be on Christmas day. We have also run numerous drives to assist families who have tragically lost a loved one, families struggling to feed, pay their bills throughout covid, pay medical bills, or could not pay for therapy or needed assistance in accessing and understanding the NDIS. The Community is the underpinning of our core values and as much we draw on their support we strive to give back just as much.
Right before lockdown we ran our first ‘Auction Night’ were we auctioned items donated from the community and raised funds so families could apply for children who would otherwise not have had the means access to the program to be sponsored and so they could be part of our S.M.A.R.T early intervention childrens mental health program. Unfortunately, due to covid the program has been put on hold until now and the funds raised got divided to over fifty families that contacted desperate for assistance.
We deliver services to individuals, couples, families, schools, sports groups, events, and businesses. Primarily working with children through to the elderly helping to enrich the lives of those who identify with a disability, mental health disorders, a dual diagnosis, coaching/mentoring ranging from simple to complex cases.
Delivery models being via face to face, outreach, telehealth, zoom, groups, workbooks, specialized social media groups etc. We have tried to think of everything to provide all our consumers with a unique experience but also having the flexibility to tailor our services for individuals’ different needs, values & wants. Servicing individuals not only over the Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne, interstate and hopefully worldwide too.
Drawing on our qualifications, I predominantly do most of the work as we like to keep the experience when working with us intimate and personable, however I do have some volunteers about to start helping out. I also have a beautiful dog Gracie that loves to be involved in everyones journey and all things at the office!!
Staff are trained experience in working with Adhd, Add, Odd, Trauma, Autism, Behaviours Of Concern, Depression, Anxiety, Psychosocial Disabilities, BPD, Schizophrenia, Suicidal Ideation, Family Conflicts, Drug And Alcohol, Ptsd, Ocd, Fears, Stress Management, Relationship issues, Supervision, Staff Issues, Grief & Loss, Sleep Issues, Covid Related Issues, Sexual Issues, Self Esteem Issues, Addiction, Life Stage Transitions, Parenting Issues, Impulse Control, Social Skills, Emotional Regulation, Mindfulness, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders and Seasonal Effective Disorder. Assessments, Reports and NDIS application and appeals are all part of our supports too.
We are applying for all registrations & applications to our relevant boards. We have also pivoted over the years and added different types of stock so you will see how we tie this altogether and the projection of the WELLNESS HUB vision becomes a reality!!

So, if you cannot help in a ‘sponsor’ role, help advertise or promote or pass this information onto someone that may benefit from our services. We thank you for your valuable time in reading this information.
Obviously, every spare cent has gone into and will continue to go into the business. We will continue to grow and create a dynamic wellness hub, network and collab with amazing other businesses that have the same values, drive, passion and philosophies.
We will be a space where stress melts away, a place where therapy is no longer scary but something children/teenagers and adults can’t wait to attend, a place where staff can network, parents can sit and be present, friendships are made, and lives are changed.
A place that when you step through the door you shift from a reactive fast paced society member and can slow down and breathe while having your needs met, enriching your life and those around you.
Please help me, help others and share in experiences they would go this lifetime without if these "call outs'', are not successful. But, you guys are always so amazing and touch my heart.
