INCLUSIVE AWARD WINNERS ARE GRINNERS!

We’re so proud to share that the Frankston Softball Association’s partnership with Doable was awarded the Peter Norman Inclusive Award at the Victorian Sports Awards last night. Embedding inclusive practices into both its internal operations and community-facing programs, FSA created meaningful volunteer canteen opportunities for people with disability. And these weren’t symbolic roles either! The association ensured participants were genuinely empowered and supported by running risk assessments, mock practice sessions and introducing an accessible touch-based register system. It’s no wonder nearby associations are reaching out to learn from the model and explore similar partnerships. Our heartfelt congratulations to Terri, Veronica and Marcus who deserve all the credit for this incredible award! You prove anything is !

So proud of the True Colours work our Disability Advisory Committee is doing with local government! Creating an opportunity for people with lived experience of disability to directly influence their community, this week the team visited Jacks Beach Reserve in Bittern, providing practical advice on accessibility across BBQ areas, toilets, pathways, terrain, information, and sensory-friendly features. The facilities at Jack's beach are scheduled for upgrading, and there's no doubt that active citizenship, open contribution, and ensuring inclusion is built in from the start will result in a better experience for all in the future. Great work, guys! This is disability-led change in action!

The things that most parents prepare their children for – leaving the home, encountering new people, and building a life on your own merits, are often the very things that parents of children with disabilities avoid. But we all want control of our own lives. At Doable, our unique approach to SIL empowers people living with a disability to live as close to an ordinary life as possible in every stage of stage of life. Starting on your SIL journey or just want more info about the Doable Life System? Get in touch!

Meet Jess ☺️

As an Activity Facilitator at Doable, she helps people build the skills and confidence to live more independently.

“We know we’ve done our job right when a person is being recognised out in the community.”

Well said, Jess!

A life well lived: it’s 🤝

Happy Auslan Day 💚

Did you know our new logo was inspired by sign language?

Crossed arms represent love. Two thumbs up means, 'it’s all good'.

Together, it’s a symbol of support, positivity and community.

The small things that make a difference: they’re 🤝

Meet Anu 🎬💛

Anu is a support worker who believes in creating genuine connections and supporting people to live life their way.

Because even when the people she supports can’t express it easily, she knows the little extra things she does on a regular basis are actually recognised and deeply valued.

Gestures, smiles and time spent together - these can all mean so much!

A life more rewarding? It’s 🤝

Great couple of days at the South-East Melbourne Disability Expo!

We loved meeting so many people across the two days and sharing our new branding in person. It was so great to see the response. At Doable, we don’t provide ‘support’, we provide futures.

Huge shoutout to Michelle Dunne and Toni Stewart for doing such an incredible job representing the company and thanks to ImpactInstitute for the photo!
