Run Coaching Spotlight;

Hard to put into words how proud I am of this guy and all he has achieved over the last 4 months. Michael came to me with the goal of running the 102km , a massive goal coming off multiple marathons in 2025 but one that was so exciting! Never has someone been so diligent in sticking to the process, asking all the right questions and making sure he ticked every box necessary.

As we all know life throws curveballs at us, and Mike was thrown a big one 5 weeks ago losing a close friend, which meant training took a back seat. We were unable to complete much of our peak weeks, and we spent majority of the time period focusing on feeling healthy and spending time moving with mates. Mike was so strong through this whole period and everyone within our community applauds him on how well he carried himself.

He got to honour his lost friend over the weekend with this run, achieving 43km before pulling the pin due to extreme weather ☔️ and gut issues, yet he was able to meet so many amazing people and take many wins away from the experience.

Amongst training for this 100km, Mike achieved multiple PB’s across 10km distances and 5km distances, two styles of running we didn’t technically even prioritise, yet his volume of work meant his overall fitness became so so strong. Whilst this 100km wasn’t the race he had planned, Mike is the fittest and fastest he has ever been, and I cannot wait to see where he wants to take his running next, as anything is possible. Congrats legend 💝💝💝

Run Coaching Spotlight; !!

Big congrats to this wonderful person for running Carmen’s Half-Marathon over the weekend and achieving an 8 minute PB, running a 2hr 12!!

Zali is an accomplished runner already knocking off multiple events and marathons in recent years, however came to me with the goal of getting quicker across long distance. We’ve been working together for around 12 weeks so far and we have the big goal of finishing a marathon () under the course limit of 5hrs! She is well on truly on track for that after knocking off this Half-Marathon in hot conditions, 8 minutes quicker than her previous best. This was a stepping stone towards our bigger goal, but certainly not something to disregard as we work towards Ballarat.

We have done this through deliberate controlled slow runs to improve her base, weekly threshold work to improve her capacity, and specific incremental weekly K’s to avoid overtraining. She is doing all the right things to make Ballarat her best run ever, and more importantly she is enjoying each day and being so so easy to coach. Proud of you mate! Let’s keep it rolling.

Running is such a fun sport for so many reasons, but just like a lot of strength training, it is often done without much thought or process to follow which is hindering your ability to progress (or leading to injury as I see in clinic).

I’ve been writing up programs for patients of mine in the clinic, and also extending it out to the general public to continue helping more people tick their running goals.

These programs are all completely personalised to you, your paces, your heart rate zones, your level of experience, and your availability within the gym or out running.

Need a plan to follow? I’d love to help! Shoot me a message or click the link in the bio for my free running inquiry form. 🙌😄

Busiest I’ve been the last week at ISR. The process in 2026 hasn’t changed. When new people book into the clinic I ensure I do the following;
- Understand their goals and why they’re here
- Assess to understand objectively what may be causing issues
- Treat thoroughly and with intent
- Provide a plan of attack, a referral, an exercise program, or even just at-home advice

I’m remaining at Impact across long hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday’s. Booking link in the bio but be quick as appointments fill up.

As of tomorrow the clinic is officially re-open for 2026!

Impact Sports Recovery will continue to prioritise educating patients on their pain, being thorough in all hands on treatment, and prescribing relevant exercise rehab to reduce likelihood of injury reoccurring.

The run coaching side of the business is still in full swing, meaning if you have a race or running goal you’d like to achieve, you can reach out for a personalised 12 week program, or coaching week to week to help achieve your goal.

The clinic will be open across Monday’s, Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, Friday’s, and Saturday’s.

Excited for another year at .

Run Coaching Spotlight:

A great mate who came to me just over 11 weeks ago with the goal of running his first marathon, Nick and I put together a program focusing on increasing weekly kilometres and incorporating specific strength sessions to build key lower body muscles as the running load progressed.

As someone who had been running for a few years but with no real plan, Nick executed the build so well and was only let down in the final couple of weeks due to heavy days on the body at work. We stripped back his running for 3 weeks and instead increased other forms of cardio, mainly the stationary bike, so he could keep fitness up whilst giving the body some recovery in time for the marathon.

He executed all his threshold sessions well and stayed diligently to the program, which required a lot of trust, but a great level of collaboration between the two of us and we made sure to listen to his body when it asked us to!

He accomplished his goal today, practically bang on his goal time, starting out around 3am and running with some mates on bikes. Officially a marathoner!! Well done Nicko 🙌

After clinic sessions today we officially close November at ISR and move towards our final month of 2025!

At this stage it looks like Saturday 20th will be my last day treating patients, meaning there are three full weeks left to get on top of pain or niggles heading into the break.

Same goes for run coaching intakes, I already have a number starting Jan 5th and will be open to taking on 2-3 more post Christmas, who have their eyes set on running events in 2026.

Thanks for all the support so far! Hopefully one big month to go 😁😁

So much fun coaching this superstar the previous 8 weeks as we prepare her for the upcoming 2XU Half-Marathon event next Sunday 30th!

Key note in comparing these two runs is looking at Mads heart rate. Sitting low 170’s 2 months ago during her easy 8km run, we made the effort to improve her threshold level through weekly interval efforts and taught her how to keep her easy runs, easy! In combination with building weekly efforts @ race pace (5:40) and targeted strength and plyometric training, Mads hit yesterdays run finishing with a hear rate in the 150’s and still running 45 seconds quicker than the 2 months prior. Unbelievable ex*****on on her behalf.

One week away from her race, Mads has completed all her training sessions and sits in an awesome position to go sub 2hrs next weekend. Our race plan has her coming home strong to finish around 1hr 57 minutes, and I cannot wait to watch her execute!!

So many wins already regardless of next Sundays result. Great work superstar!!! 📈📈📈

Run progression across the last 2 years!
Still a social sport for me, but very cool to step back and reflect on the process. I hear all the time how hard distance running is, and as you can see from above I certainly once agreed! Time and consistency can breed great results. 🌸

For the past two years, Impact Sports Recovery has focused on injury rehabilitation and pain management within the clinic, helping countless patients stay strong and healthy through hands on treatment and strength & conditioning.

Now, for the first time ever a coaching edition is available, offering a deeper, more structured approach to a sport many of my patients already love; Running.

I am blessed to call this something I love, I’ve been working incredibly hard behind the scenes the last year through further study and can now call myself an Advanced Level 2 Run Coach through Vic Athletics.

If you’d like the opportunity to work with me, my free inquiry form takes 2 minutes to fill out, and will give me an avenue to reach you through and discuss your upcoming goals.

Thanks to all the people in my clinic who support me so well already, and I can’t wait to dig in further with this and achieve some incredible things 🙌.
