✨ Neck Pain in Teachers During Report Writing ✨

Part 3 - Tips to help with Neck Pain

Step 1: Check Your Posture
Sit tall with your ears aligned over your shoulders. Make sure your screen is at eye level and your keyboard isn’t too far away. Use a chair with good lumbar support, and keep both feet flat on the ground. A good setup can take a lot of pressure off your neck.

Step 2: Move and Stretch
Every 30-45 minutes, get up and move. Do some gentle neck stretches — tilt your head side to side, rotate slowly, or try a chin tuck. Add in shoulder rolls or wall angels to loosen up the upper back. Movement keeps the muscles engaged and improves circulation.

Step 3: Get Assessed
Get a proper assessment from a physiotherapist. We can identify the root cause of your neck pain, whether it’s a joint restriction, muscle tightness, or nerve involvement, and provide targeted treatment to help you feel better faster.

Bonus Tip: Hydration and Breathing
Many teachers don’t realize that shallow breathing (from stress) and dehydration can add to neck and upper shoulder tension. Take a few deep breaths every hour and sip water throughout the day. Your muscles will thank you!

Our Story

Miami Physiotherapy is open from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday to better suit your life schedule! We currently have five excellent physiotherapists who can help you out immediately. Along side the Physiotherapy team are Podiatrists, Exercise Physiologists, a Personal Trainer, and a Dietitian.

Within the Physiotherapist team we treat neck pain, back pain, headaches, shoulder injuries, knee injuries, ankle sprains, tennis elbow, wrist sprains, recovery from fractures, rehabilitation after surgeries, as well as neurological and chest physiotherapy.

We offer seven Pilates classes per week and individual Pilates sessions on request which are brilliant for general strengthening as well as helping with core stability for those with back pain. We can offer gym programs and hydrotherapy program set-ups, and will even visit you at home if you need!

We also have a real-time ultrasound machine on site to better assess your core stability and pelvic floor muscles. Alongside a Shockwave Therapy machine used for pain relief and to cure chronic conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, tennis elbow, shoulder tendonitis, and other chronic tendinopathies.
