Success! We made it!
We cycled over 750km through SA and western Victoria as part of the 2024 Pain revolution rural outreach tour.
It has been an incredible week. There were some long tough days with windy conditions but together we all made it.
I am extremely grateful to my ride captain Steve who did an awesome job on the tandem along with organising the ride routes and keeping us all safe on the road.
Thanks to all the support crew
It was also awesome to attend a number of the community events and hear from people expressing their delight that they now have hope of returning to the things they love, free from pain once dominating all aspects of their life.
It is difficult to describe the mixed emotions associated with completing this adventure. There is a great sense of accomplishment, joy and a little relief, but also mixed in with much gratitude to my partner and all the people at Pain revolution who made it possible for me to be involved. Whilst there was eagerness to return home, I was also sad that this adventure with an amazing group of generous people had come to an end.
In many respects pain revolution is still in its infancy, but it does seem like it is now starting to show evidence of change. People are open to learning about pain and gaining a new understanding of what pain is. I admire the grass-roots approach of Pain revolution.
So many of the people involved, like myself, are from small farming communities and understanding the added challenges of accessing health services in rural areas. We are working to up-skill the communities so they don’t need to go to or rely on metropolitan areas. – Like all change, it takes time!

I was blown away with all the donations and messages of support. I was aiming for $3,500 and at last check I was just short of this at $3,160.
So, if you were thinking of donating it is not too late, See the fundraising link:

Finally, thanks to everyone that donated, I am extremely grateful for your support, I did try to make the effort to thank you all individually, although there were a couple of anonymous donations, so thanks also to whoever you are.
Check out some pics from the last day as we arrived into Horsham roughly a 95km day that started with a 10km climb followed by some cross winds. We were also super excited to see cycling legend Phil Anderson join us on the ride for the last day.
