Join our Roundtable with Rosanne Haggerty: Healthcare and Homelessness as a matter of equity.

WHEN + WHERE:
Wed, 9 Oct, 2:30pm - 4:30pm AEST
Souths Leagues Club West End

About the event:
Using a health system focus, we will develop a research, policy and action agenda to:
- reduce homelessness
- lower health care costs
- improve health outcomes
for people including children and families experiencing homelessness and domestic and family violence.

Addressing differences in the social determinants of health and homelessness makes progress toward health equity. A state in which every person has the opportunity to attain their highest level of health and have a home. The social determinants of health provide an excellent opportunity for housing, homelessness and health services to work together.

Rosanne Haggerty is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Community Solutions. She is an internationally recognised leader in developing innovative strategies to end homelessness and strengthen communities.

This is a free event. Spaces are limited.

Afternoon Tea will be provided.

World Hepatitis Day - 28 July 2024

Micah Projects and the Inclusive Health and wellbeing Hub are actively working to eliminate Hepatitis C as part of broader community efforts across Brisbane to increase access to testing, treatment and assertive follow up.

Our Nurse practitioner, GP’s, Registered nurses, support and advocacy workers and NGO partners have been collaborating to link those experiencing homelessness and disadvantage to access hepatitis C treatment and to achieve a cure.

Participating as part of the Kirby Institute/ UNSW National Point of care testing program has greatly improved this access to testing and diagnosis.

The global theme for World Hepatitis Day 2024 is “It’s time for action.” All over this at Inclusive Health! 🙌🏻

Do you get “take aways” with your acupuncture treatments?

There’s many places (acupuncture points) we can put these little stick ons… but our favourite “takeaway treatment” is a calming area of your ear. 👂🏻

Ask us about it when you’re next in.

(We even have some people who just pop in for an express treatment and do ear pellets only).

Our community acupuncture clinic has been generously gifted these amazing magnetic pellets. So, a big thanks from us (and our community acupuncture participants) to these guys! 🙏🏻

And to any acupuncturists still reading, you’ve got to try these (if you haven’t already) - easy to handle, the adhesive is so good, sticks for ages, which seems to be hard to find in non tack products! 🥰

Community Acupuncture
Mondays - women’s only - 10am to 12pm
Wednesdays & Thursday - 10am to 2pm

Walk ins welcomed…
