Palestinian cooking classes with Sandra at .com.au last weekend to celebrate Palestinian culture. Beyond the diaspora and the ongoing genocide. Palestinian cuisine is abundant in flavour, freshness and olive oil, the best!! Reminds me a bit of the Greek/Mediterranean i grew up with back in France 💛

I have a couple of Tuesdays in clinic coming up:
December 23rd and 30th.

I am really happy to be back. I feel appreciated and loved up. In your trust and kindness. And yes I have completed my 2nd year of midwifery studies but I cannot fathom letting go of my little massage business. So I am thinking very hard of a way to combine both set of skills together. Any ideas?

This definition of consent of "always be informed, specific, timely, freely given and REVERSIBLE" also applies to how i proceed with my massage treatments.

The quote is from Bashi Kumar-Hazard, whom I had the privilege to listen to in person at the strength to progress conference this year. Bashi is an author and lawyer specialising in human rights in childbirth. Many of you would have seen her in "Birth Time". Bashi's definition of consent was meant for childbirth and at the conference, Bashi also added that consent only lasts for the next 30 minutes. If the woman had consented to a procedure hours before, consent will need to be obtained again to proceed.

39% of women birthed by cesarean in 2022, that is over 1 in 3. Internationally renown researcher and writer Hazel Keedle is in Perth on October 25th for a workshop on birthing after a cesarean. This workshop goes through the education and support we can learn for our own experience and as birth workers (midwives, doulas, obstetricians etc), how to work with women to prepare for their next birth.
I am really looking forward to this in depth workshop because with over 1/3 women we care for had had a cesarean, I need to learn more than what my midwifery course has covered.
It is also perfect timing as I will be just done with my 2nd year (2/3 down!).

Kaya lovely people,
I am back at Birthing Wellness after weeks of learning. Learning to be on holiday with little people and learning about monitoring complex pregnancies within the hospital system.
It's been wild.
I had to go and ground my feet in the bush before I come back to massage. I've opened Saturday 19th and 26th for massage and I am looking forward to seeing you. Regular massage days remain the same : Thursday and Friday.

**** Back on July 10th*****
In June, I am taking a couple of weeks off to breathe on a little family holiday. Then I will be on placement for 3 weeks.
In the meantime if you’d like a massage appointment, I have a couple of spots on Thursday 29th. Birth pool, birth sling and tens machine are available for hire from mid-June.
