Today is Close the Gap Day ๐Ÿค๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’œ

A day to listen, learn, and stand alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the journey toward health equity, justice, and healing.

This yearโ€™s theme, Community Voices, reminds us that real change starts with listening to lived experiences, respecting culture, and backing community-led solutions.

At headspace Hedland, weโ€™re committed to walking this path together, creating safe spaces where young people feel heard, supported, and empowered.

Because closing the gap isnโ€™t just a goal, itโ€™s something we all have a role in.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Take a moment today to reflect, start a conversation, or learn something new.

๐ŸŒ๐Ÿงก Harmony Week is here!

From 15โ€“21 March, weโ€™re celebrating the many cultures, stories and communities that make our region what it is.

Here in Hedland, people come from all over the world, but what connects us is simple: kindness, respect and looking out for one another.

At headspace Hedland, we believe everyone deserves to feel like they belong. This week is a chance to celebrate our differences, share our stories, and stand together as a community.

Because when we make space for each other, amazing things happen.

๐Ÿงก If you need someone to talk to, our team is here.

Its the start of a new week! that means, fresh energy, and a chance to check in with your mental health. ๐Ÿ’š

Sometimes looking after your wellbeing can feel like a big task, but breaking it down into small daily actions can make it much easier. This week, why not try setting a simple theme for each day?

๐Ÿ—“ Monday โ€“ Plan
Start the week by organising your schedule and setting a few realistic goals.

๐Ÿฅ— Tuesday โ€“ Health
Choose foods that fuel you or try cooking something new.

๐Ÿšถ Wednesday โ€“ Move
Get your body moving with a walk, stretch, or quick workout.

๐Ÿ“ต Thursday โ€“ Unplug
Take a break from screens or social media and give your mind some quiet time.

๐Ÿงน Friday โ€“ Declutter
Clear your workspace, tidy a small area, or organise something thatโ€™s been on your list.

๐ŸŽจ Saturday โ€“ Relax
Spend time doing something you enjoy. Hobbies, creativity, rest, or just slowing down.

๐Ÿง  Sunday โ€“ Align
Reflect on the week, journal your thoughts, and set intentions for the week ahead.

Mental health care doesnโ€™t have to be complicated. Small steps, done consistently, can make a big difference. Try a few this week and see how you go. ๐ŸŒฟ

If you need extra support, there are people ready to listen.

Life can move pretty fast sometimes. Between work, school, notifications and everything else going on, itโ€™s easy to feel like your brain never really gets a break.

Thatโ€™s where a Slow Down Menu can help. ๐Ÿง ๐ŸŒฟ

Think of it as a list of simple ways to pause and reset throughout the day. You donโ€™t need lots of time or special equipment, just a few minutes to check in with yourself.

Maybe that looks like stepping outside for some fresh air, taking a few slow breaths, stretching your body, putting the phone down for a moment, or doing something small that helps you feel calm again.

Slowing down isnโ€™t about doing less, itโ€™s about giving your mind the space it needs to recharge.

If things are feeling overwhelming, remember you donโ€™t have to handle it on your own. Support is always available.

Looking after your mental health doesnโ€™t have to be complicated. Sometimes itโ€™s the small, everyday things that help the most. ๐ŸŒฟ

Think of self-care like a menu. You donโ€™t have to do everything, just pick something that feels doable today.

Maybe itโ€™s a quick stretch at your desk, a few minutes of fresh air outside, a slow cup of tea, a short walk, or taking a moment to reset your breathing. Even a few minutes can help your mind settle and your body catch up.

Our Self Care Menu is full of simple ideas you can try:
๐Ÿ  At home
๐Ÿ’ผ At work
๐ŸŒณ Outside

Taking part in your own mental health care is powerful. Small choices, done regularly, can build stronger habits and help you feel more balanced over time.

And remember, you donโ€™t have to figure it all out on your own. Support is always there if you need it.

Sometimes the world can feel loud. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“ฑ
Big headlines, constant updates, and conversations online can make it easy to feel overwhelmed or worried about what might happen next.

If the news cycle has your brain running overtime, itโ€™s okay to pause. Taking care of your mental health means giving yourself permission to slow things down and focus on what helps you feel steady again.

Small things can make a big difference:
โ€ข Choose what news you consume and how often
โ€ข Take breaks from social media
โ€ข Get outside and reconnect with nature
โ€ข Breathe, reset, and be kind to yourself
โ€ข Focus on what you can control

Youโ€™re not alone if things feel heavy. Talking it through can really help. ๐Ÿ’ฌ
