Last month, our Glow Up Your Goals workshop series with our Life Coach Leila, brought together teenage girls and female staff from Hedland Senior High School to reflect, dream, and plan for their futures.

Highlights included:

🎯 Girls gaining clarity on their goals in all areas of life, including school, friendships, and wellbeing

☕ A safe and welcoming environment (yes, our hot chocolate was a hit!) which made learning fun and engaging

💬 Honest conversations about women’s health, with our Nurse Taren introducing vital women's health services offered at the Hedland Well Women's Centre.

This series not only equipped participants with tools for personal growth, but was also an opportunity for the girls to come in and experience our Centre firsthand - learning about the services that are available for them to access now and into the future. We’re proud to have created a safe, supportive space where these young women were empowered to invest in themselves 💜

Women's Legal Service WA dedicated Pilbara team are coming to the Well Women's Centre during 16 Days in WA to offer free legal assistance and advocacy and social work assistance for women in need of support in the areas of;

✔️Protection and care
✔️Criminal injuries compensation

Accessing consistent, specialist healthcare can be an obstacle when living in regional WA. That's why we've partnered with Luma and BHP to deliver a groundbreaking female GP telehealth service, to improve the access to quality healthcare for women in Hedland.
This service, specialising in female sexual and reproductive health, is delivered via an easy, two-step process:

Did you know that as a member of the Well Women's Centre you receive a special discount at Pharmacy 777 Port Hedland ? They offer a range of health services including flu vaccinations, health checks and supported weight loss solutions. As of recently, your local pharmacist is also able to prescribe treatment instore for uncomplicated UTI's.

Pharmacy 777 have been great supporters of the Well Women's Centre for many years, and we encourage our members to pop in and visit Lee and his friendly team for all of your pharmaceutical needs.

Yesterday marked the first day of the 2025 16 Days in WA campaign. This year’s theme is “Stopping Family and Domestic Violence: Play your part” — with a special focus on encouraging men and boys to call out disrespect, model positive behaviour, and help drive cultural change.

Here are 5 ways you can this year:
🧡 Raise awareness about family and domestic violence in your circles
🧡 Challenge harmful attitudes and call out disrespect when you see it
🧡 Educate yourself and others on how to spot the signs and respond safely
🧡 Share resources and support services so people know where to turn
🧡 Get involved in activities happening across our community

We encourage everyone to stand together during the campaign — to educate, motivate, and advocate for change. By playing your part, you help stop violence before it starts and create a safer WA for women and children.
