Wirraka Maya events hosted the National Close the Gap Day event, which featured 12 stallholders and was attended by over 100+ people, ranging in age from 1 to over 70+ years.

We hope this event brings people together to share information and, most importantly, to take meaningful action to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This Thursday 19th March, we’re switching things up and joining the Wirraka Maya Close the Gap Event 🙌🏽✨

We’re inviting all our amazing Tum to Tots families to come along, connect, and be part of something BIG in our community 💛

Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation recently presented our services and programs at the Sport and Recreation Expo held at Kevin Scott Oval, where we had 54 interactions. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with community members and share information about the health services and support we provide. We would like to thank the Town of Port Hedland for allowing us to participate in this fantastic community event and for giving us the opportunity to showcase our health services.

🎊Melanoma Awareness Month - Look after your skin

Natalie and Terance, attended the Healthy Body Healthy Mind session this week, where a SunSmart awareness presentation was conducted for a small group of children. They handed out bucket hats, SPF lip balms, and wristbands with the slogan provided by the Cancer Council WA.

🌸🐰 TIS EASTER COLOURING COMPETITION! 🐰🌸

Wirraka Maya Health Service – Tackling Indigenous Smoking is inviting all our deadly little artists to take part in our Easter Colouring Competition! 🎨✨

This fun activity celebrates culture, community and keeping our families strong and smoke-free 💛🖤❤️💙💚

🖍 How to enter:
1️⃣ Collect a colouring page from our office OR download it from this post
2️⃣ Colour it in however you like – get creative!
3️⃣ Write your name, age & contact number on the back
4️⃣ Return it to WMHSAC before the closing date

🏆 All completed entries will go into the draw… AND the community will vote for their favourite design!

The 3 x artworks with the most community votes will WIN a prize! 🎁🐣

☀️ Tum to Tots Location Change – Tomorrow ☀️

Due to the heat, TIS Tum to Tots will be changing location tomorrow to keep everyone cool and comfortable.

📍 Location: JD Hardie Youth & Community Hub, South Hedland
🕙 Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
🎟 Entry: FREE (covered by TIS)

Come along for fresh food, fun activities, and a great morning with other families. It’s a great chance for the little ones to play, learn and connect in a safe, cool environment.
