‼️Reminder‼️ Playgroup is having a change of location and will be at Wirraka Maya Health Service Aboriginal Corporation to celebrate National Close the Gap Open Day!

We would love for all our families to stop in to enjoy playgroup, connect and be a part of a BIG day in our community ⭐️

There will be:
-Fresh food for everyone
-Local organisations and community stalls
-Incredible raffle prizes

This is more than just a weekly playgroup for us, our commitment to Closing the Gap is the foundation of who and the why of WPMCS💛

Week 7, term 1 at Warralong community ⭐️

We have been so lucky to have so many children and families joining us at playgroup. It has really allowed for us to scaffold positive social skills like turn- taking, spatial awareness, using our manners and patience. 💛🌈

We practiced good hygiene as we washed, dried and dressed the baby dolls. One of the children identified that the babydoll with hair needed to have it scrubbed which she did with such care. 💛🌈

Violet, our program supervisor, attended Town of Port Hedland’s community screening of Yurlu Country last Thursday evening.

Yurlu Country is a vivid ode to Country and an intimidate portrait of an Aboriginal Elder’s final year as he strives to preserve his culture, heal his homeland, scarred by the worst contaminated site in the Southern Hemisphere.

Look at these incredible puzzles we solved as a team. With each puzzle we each guessed what animal we thought it might be by looking for clues, utilised our trial and error skills, engaged our social skills of turn-taking and spacial awareness and celebrated our success as a team! 💛🌈
