Our Story

South Hobart Pharmacy is an independent community pharmacy. The pharmacy has been serving the community on the corner of Macquarie and Elboden streets since 1921. We are a family owned and operated business that prides itself on traditional customer service. We believe that a healthy community is a happy community, and look forward to welcoming you into our store and looking after your health.

The suburb itself is one of the oldest in Tasmania. Originally it was the location of the holiday homes of wealthier Hobart residents. Now, although it is only a stone’s throw to the centre of town, you would have to travel a long way out of the city to experience the feeling of community that exists in South Hobart.
