Most people believe the mind needs to be quiet in order to meditate. In yoga, we take a different approach—learning to gently observe the fluctuations of the mind, allowing them to come and go without judgement or getting caught in the story.

Join us for a warm, welcoming 90-minute introduction to three classical meditation approaches. You’ll be guided through moving meditation, one-pointed concentration, and seated stillness—each building naturally on the last, so you can discover what feels most supportive for you.

Designed for those who value clear guidance and a practical approach, this session will help you learn how to work with your mind, rather than against it. Gentle Hatha Yoga offers a steady, mindful practice that supports strength, flexibility, and overall wellbeing through slow, intentional movement.

From a science perspective, slower-paced yoga has been shown to help regulate the nervous system by activating the parasympathetic response, supporting lower stress levels and improved recovery in the body. It also enhances proprioception—your body’s awareness in space, which supports balance, coordination, and joint stability over time.

Each posture is guided with time to explore alignment and breath, allowing muscles to lengthen safely and connective tissues to adapt gradually. This creates a sustainable foundation for mobility and functional strength.

Many students arrive at our studio looking for Yin, but they leave discovering something much deeper: Restorative Yoga.

While Yin focuses on "stretching" the muscles and fascia, our Restorative practice is a focused "work-in" for your nervous system. In this traditional method, we use bolsters and blankets to ensure you feel no stretch at all.

Why? Because when the body feels completely supported, the mind finally stops "doing" and starts "being." We stay true to this classical practice because we believe your breath is the only tool you need to find stillness.

How Restorative Yoga is Different from Yin Yoga

These two styles are often confused, but they are quite different.

Restorative Yoga
Goal is relaxation and nervous system regulation
Body is fully supported
Little to no stretch sensation
Comfort is essential
Poses usually held 5–20 minutes
Encourages parasympathetic state (rest/digest)
Best when depleted, stressed, overwhelmed, fatigued

Yin Yoga
Goal is stressing connective tissue gently (fascia, ligaments, joints)
Less props typically used
Moderate sensation/stretch expected
Stillness with edge sensation
Poses held 3–5+ minutes
More physically intense than restorative
Best for mobility, tissue hydration, patience, introspection in the body, we aim for zero effort. This allows the nervous system to shift into a state of profound repair—something a "stretching" practice cannot achieve in the same way.

The Citta Flow Way:

We don't follow trends or mix styles. We offer Restorative Yoga as a disciplined path to Pratyahara (internal quiet). By removing the need for physical "sensation" and external distractions like sound bowls, we allow you to experience the true medicine of stillness.

If you feel mentally "fried" or physically exhausted, you don't need more stress—you need the deep, supported release that only a traditional Restorative practice can provide.

Lower back disc issues can feel confusing…
You’re often told to “stretch more” — but that’s not always what your spine actually needs.

With disc-related pain, the focus gently shifts from pushing into range…
to moving with support, awareness, and stability.

This is where Gentle Hatha Yoga can be incredibly helpful 🌿

In our slower, carefully guided classes, we focus on:
• Supporting a neutral, comfortable spine
• Building gentle core stability (without strain)
• Moving in ways that reduce pressure on the lower back
• Releasing unnecessary tension through breath and awareness

Rather than forcing deep stretches or strong poses, the intention is simple:
✨ help your body feel safe again
✨ restore ease in movement
✨ build quiet strength over time

Many students find that with the right approach, movement becomes something they trust again — not something they fear.

If you’re navigating lower back discomfort or disc-related issues, you’re always welcome to move at your own pace, with options and support throughout.

Our weekly schedule has 6 Gentle Hatha classes each week suitable for moving mindfully at your own pace. Our teachers are all trained in sequencing safe yoga classes, and anatomy.

We don't give any manual adjustments to students. We invite you to move with your breathe and listen to your body.
