Pleased to share another 2025 article from our research group published in Pharmacology & Therapeutics (IF 12). IPF remains a challenging disease with no drugs available to change the trajectory. It is a highly destructive disease with pathogenesis still not clearly understood. In this comprehensive clinical and translational review, we have revisited the pathology of IPF with particular focus on vascular endothelial and epithelial cell changes, mechanistic signalling pathways, clinical definition, update on diagnosis and new advances made in treatment of this insidious disease. This have been a massive collaborative effort with colleagues from University of Tasmania Wenying Lu (Monica), Affan Shahzad, Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Maddison Waters Greg Haug, Lucilla Piccari Hospital del Mar, Barcelona, Spain, Anna-Karin Larsson Callerfelt Lund University, Sweden, Dr. Md. Imtaiyaz Hassan and Ilma Shakeel from Centre For Interdisciplinary Research In Basic Sciences, New Delhi, India and Alan Teoh from Centre of Research Excellence in Pulmonary Fibrosis. Congratulations to everyone and thanks very much for supporting this important piece of work!
