Our Story
ASMIRT facilitates educational activities, discussion and consultation among members and others. We set standards of competency in practice and encourage scholarship and continuing professional development.
ASMIRT uses social media for the distribution of news and updates to members and non-members, and to facilitate discussion between professionals of the medical radiation sciences. ASMIRT may also use social media to promote its online learning programmes, events and partnerships to its members and wider health professionals.
Any advice or professional guidance offered on these pages by members of this Facebook group cannot replace thorough and proper consultation with department colleagues/supervisors. ASMIRT cannot be held responsible for the veracity of information provided by external participants.
The principles of professional behaviour and ethical conduct apply equally in person or online, and this is recognised in the Social Media Policy of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Authority (AHPRA).
It is imperative that users, be they ASMIRT members or practitioners registered with AHPRA or other professional associations, are aware of their professional obligations toward confidentiality and the respect for privacy for all patients and their families.
