Did you know, our feelings, behaviour and decision making functions originate in the Limbic Brain, which has no capacity for language? This often triggers conflict between our head and our heart. Art has the ability to tap directly into the Limbic Brain to capture and explore our feelings through colour, symbology and analogy, offering a safe outlet to externalise and unpack emotionally charged issues to lighten the load and communicate our feelings with others.

Arts based practice cultivates your innate creativity to gain focus and clarity (great for business!), and enhances physical, mental and emotional well-being on a personal level through creative processing.

As a qualified Art Therapist, I employ therapeutic practices which work on two levels:

1. The mere act of art making stimulates communication between various parts of the brain and focuses your mind on the current moment and immediate environment. This diverts your mind from your usual thoughts and worries, inducing a meditative like state (think mindfulness).
