Here are some tips to help you ask for support for your health conditions and disabilities this year:
โ€ข Even if you feel others have it worse, your challenges still matter, and you still deserve support.
โ€ข Be specific when letting others know how they can support you to reduce any assumptions and misunderstandings.
โ€ข Itโ€™s okay to accept help, donโ€™t push through alone when support is available.
โ€ข It can feel awkward or uncomfortable to ask for support, but doing so reduces risks and helps you thrive.
โ€ข Communicate in a way that works best for you, and don't underestimate yourself.
โ€ข Use written or visual aids to ask for support. It helps add credibility and helps others understand you better.
โ€ข Believe in yourself. You know what helps you, and itโ€™s okay to let others know what support you need.

This holiday season, remember, you and your needs matter- Ask for support when you need it.โค๏ธ

The holiday season can be full of joy, but it can also bring unique challenges. Increased socialising, expectations, travel, crowds, noises and seasonal activities can impact access needs, routines, energy levels, and wellbeing.

However you choose to ask for support and advocate, communicate what you need, when you need it. ๐Ÿงก

Image Description: This post shows an image that states that you and your needs matter, even during the holiday season. So if you face any challenges during the holiday season, ask for support when you need it.
