This year’s theme, “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” reminds us how vital nurses are to the health, dignity, safety and wellbeing of our communities. Nurses are the heart of care — advocating, educating, comforting, leading and supporting people through some of life’s most important moments.

At Pearl Home Care South Yarra, we are proud to recognise the skill, compassion and dedication of nurses across Australia and around the world, especially those working in community and home care.

Today is World Parkinson’s Day — a chance to pause and consider those navigating life with Parkinson’s in ways most of us don’t see.

It’s the small things that can become big things. The daily adjustments. The patience. The resilience it takes just to move through the day.

For those living with Parkinson’s, and for the families, friends and carers alongside them — you’re seen, and you matter.

Awareness isn’t just about facts. It’s about understanding, compassion, and showing up in the ways we can.

Our staff Christmas party was an artistic session of acrylic pouring! We were so amazed by the hidden artistic talent our team had! What a lovely afternoon spent celebrating a successful 2025!

✨ Support at Home ✨

The government is replacing Home Care Packages with the new Support at Home Program – designed to make services easier, fairer, and more flexible.

Here’s what that means:
✅ Grandfathered clients – If you were approved for a aHome Care Package before 12 September 2024, nothing changes! You’ll keep your services just as they are.
✅ Transition clients – If you were approved a package after the 12 September 2024 , you’ll move into Support at Home when it’s rolled out.

At Pearl Home Care South Yarra, we’ll guide you through every step with direct access to our Director of Nursing, making sure your care continues smoothly 💙

We are so lucky to have such a beautiful and caring team behind us, and love to celebrate each and every one of them!

Recognising all our support staff's hard work and dedication, they create safe and positive environments for our ageing and NDIS participants to thrive and continue achieving their goals.

In 2024, two of our support workers were recognised for their excellent efforts, Tayah was awarded the dedication award, and Yang the Support Worker of the Year award 🏆 Well Done!

The transition from the Home Care Package Program to Support at Home has created a number of questions for our older Australians, and their family and friends. The common questions we have been asked is:
📌 'What is Support at Home?'
📌 'What does that mean for me?'
📌 'If I am already recieving support through a home care package, will the new changes impact the current services I recieve, or may need in the future?'
