Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials - MASC Trials Conquering melanoma and skin cancer through clinical trials We aim to make our clinical trials accessible to all Australians, no matter where they live.

Melanoma and Skin Cancer Trials (MASC Trials) specialises in investigator-initiated melanoma and skin cancer research. We work collaboratively with world-leading researchers to deliver clinical trials that improve melanoma and skin cancer outcomes. Since 1999, the high-quality evidence published from our trials has changed clinical practice to impact the lives of patients and improve how doctors p

revent, diagnose and treat melanoma and skin cancer. Our network of over 2,250 healthcare professionals and consumers spans all Australian metropolitan cities and many regional towns, with trials currently running at 111 institutions around the world. We’re excited to announce that 2,900 participants have now been recruited to the Melanoma Margins Trial (MelMarT-II)! 🎉

MelMarT-II is a major international effort to improve outcomes for people with high-risk primary cutaneous melanoma with 187 trial sites spanning Australia and New Zealand, North America, Europe and the United Kingdom.

The trial aims to provide critical insights into optimal surgical excision margins to reduce long-term pain and improve quality of life without increasing the risk of melanoma recurrence.

With less than 100 participants left to recruit, we are one step closer to helping shape the future of melanoma care worldwide. A huge thank you to our participants, clinicians, and research teams around the globe.

We are in the final stretch of recruiting for the SiroSkin trial, which is testing a promising topical treatment to reduce facial skin cancers in organ transplant recipients.

In Australia, there are approximately 12,000 solid organ transplant recipients and around 1,600 new transplants occur each year. These patients experience a high incidence of skin cancers, which results in a major dependence on regular skin checks and surgeries.

The SiroSkin trial will provide high-quality data to determine if the topical treatment can significantly reduce the amount of facial skin cancers experienced by solid organ transplant recipients.

The trial is open at 6 sites across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. If you or someone you know is eligible, now is the time to get involved and help advance life-changing research. Be one of the final 5 to make a difference!

Time is running out to help us to make a difference in the lives of melanoma patients like Ana Ratapu.

When Ana was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma, she had to fight to access a clinical trial that could save her life. Now, Ana is working with us to advocate for clinical trials and help remove the barriers other melanoma patients may face.

Please make a tax-deductible donation before midnight tonight to help conquer melanoma and skin cancer.
