Does time feel… off lately? 🤔
We live by calendars, dates, and deadlines…
Everyone is complaining of tiredness, feeling out of sorts.
The more I look around, the more I dig…
Were we ever meant to live like this?
Ancient cultures followed the sun and moon ☀️🌙
A woman’s body follows a natural rhythm (~28 days) 👩🦰
Even the turtle shell reflects pattern and cycle 🐢
— often 13 larger sections and 28 smaller markings
And if you look back to texts like the Hebrew Bible- months were named and tracked by the moon 🌙
with an extra month added when needed to stay in rhythm with the seasons
👉 Not fixed
👉 Adjusted to stay in balance
Then…
Here in WA,
the local indigenous people follow 6 seasons…
I saw this down at the dam.
❓️You know what pi**ed me off, I should of been taught this at school, it makes more sense to me..
Not rigid months on a page,
but the land itself 🌿
Birak – first summer ☀️
Bunuru – second summer 🔥
Djeran – season of change 🍂
Makuru – cold and rain 🌧️
Djilba – new growth 🌱
Kambarang – season of birth 🌸
Flowers blooming 🌸
Winds shifting 🌬️
Ocean changing 🌊
Animals moving 🦘
No fixed boxes.
Just awareness, rhythm, and connection.
And here’s something to think about… 👀
Before calendars were standardised, many cultures marked the New Year around spring 🌱
(Late March into early April… when life begins again)
Then New Year was moved to January 1st
Those who still followed the old seasonal New Year…
were called “fools”
👉 Hello April 1st 😏
I’m not digging how I’m feeling lately…
like time is speeding up.
We need to get back to nature 🌿
Stop spraying chemicals in the atmosphere to manipulate weather, stop poisoning our crops and earth… stop the 5g
and start looking out for each other
and nature again 💜
💬 Curious… does time feel different to you too?
