Our final tip of the week is to ask someone 'WHEN is a good time to call or visit?' By asking a direct question it can receive a direct answer!

If there is too much responsibility on them to reach out to you, it won't feel like support. So ask them WHEN is a good time... they can say no if they're not up for visitors! But they'll know you are ready and waiting to come when they need you

Show that you are wanting to support them... Tell them what your intent is and that you want to be supportive of what they're going through but may not know how. Honesty is the best policy in this case!

ASK about the baby they have lost... this can enable your friend to process what has happened. Some people may shy away from talking about the baby as it is difficult but it can be really helpful for the individual!

This week brings and we want to offer some helpful tips to how best support someone who has experienced a stillbirth.

When your friends experience the loss of a baby, it's hard to know the right thing to say or do. What will be most helpful is to just listen when your friend needs to talk and to be there when they don't want to be alone.

Look out for posts for the remainder of this week as we will share some helpful things that you could say to someone!

This month brings Awareness Month! We work with our local SANDS group to offer the best ongoing support to our clients who have suffered a stillbirth or neo-natal death.

SANDS do incredible work and deserve to be celebrated for their service this month! Thank you for all you do!

Last month saw one of our team members get married! We are so happy for Clare and her new husband... and we are even grateful of their generosity that instead of gifts for their new married life, they asked all guests to give to The Firgrove Centre!!

£1,340 was raised all going towards the Bursary Fund paying sessions forward for clients! What an amazing day and an amazing gift! Thank you to everyone who has given and a massive congratulations to Clare

Today, our team are doing our final run through of our training for the Purple Doorway! On Tuesday 10 June, we are opening up this training to any qualified counsellor to come along (online) and learn more about how to take a client through this journey of hope and healing following an abortion.

All our attendees will receive a CPD certificate of 4 hours CPD with The Firgrove Centre. If you're interested in attending, please email purpledoorway@aldertrust.org.uk to sign up to this!
