Haemanalysis

Haemanalysis Haemanalysis performs expert integrative pathology testing for naturopath's, nutritionist's and othe Hello, my name is Tania Delahoy.

I am a Medical Scientist with 25 years of experience in Diagnostic Pathology. After working in several hospitals in New Zealand and in Melbourne as well as in private pathology, my focus is now on integrative pathology. Integrative pathology is the speciality where mainstream medicine meets naturopathic medicine, so, in my opinion, the best of both worlds. As well as having a B.App Sci (MLS) from RMIT I have completed additional training in integrative pathology testing and I work alongside natural medicine/integrative medicine practitioners. I offer regular clinic sessions in Melbourne as well as individual consultations online. Services Offered:
Microscopic blood analysis
Pathology review service
Immediate, unspun urinalysis for chronic UTI's
Genetic testing
Other integrative pathology testing

For Private Patients:
Haemanalysis is pleased to be able to offer these services directly to private patients with no referral needed. Microscopic Blood Analysis/Pathology Review allows you to see your blood and the changes it may show right in front of you, it is fascinating and engaging and at the same time is very informative in regards to your internal health. Different parameters in your blood are assessed including inflammation, oxidative stress, nutritional status, metabolic health, immune status, liver and gastrointestinal health. It is an ideal screening tool for anyone wanting to better their health and well being and in particular for children as it is minimally invasive and they just love seeing their blood magnified in front of them! For Practitioners: I am passionate about the work I do and I value working with a team of like-minded practitioners and enjoy the one on one patient contact. For me, this is the ideal way of incorporating my experience in clinical haematology with my love of integrative medicine. As a practitioner, if you do not currently utilise this type of blood analysis/pathology review in your practice then this a great opportunity to offer this valuable and insightful tools to your patients. Advantages include:
Access to specialist pathology services and result interpretation
Identify sub-clinical conditions early, enabling preventative measures to be put in place
Better targeted treatment plans and patient cost savings
Faster results with better patient outcome
Improved patient compliance

Other practitioner services include:
Pathology training, both group and individual
Pathology mentoring, general and case by case
Microscopic Blood Analysis training

Day 23 post positive C result

The last week has left me feeling constantly tired with awful brain fog, headache and back pain off and on so much for being out of isolation and restrictions lifting in Melbourne 🙄

Today I’m having a Vitamin C + Glutathione infusion then I’m having O2 chamber therapy and a Magnesium float, thanks to Felicity Kaye for the kind gift.

I’ve been feeling so crap that I’m throwing everything at this to fully recover including all the usual immune boosting supps

Such a nasty little virus!

Day 11 update - shared from my private page 1 day ago. I’m currently at Day 12

I began to turn the corner on Sunday with the pain subsiding. I spent the next 3 days barely able to get out of bed or eat.

Today is Day 11 and I’ve been out of bed a lot more today and ate a full dinner

I’m very fatigued, have an ongoing headache and a nasty, dry cough which the GP kindly offered me antibiotics for 🙄

I’m glad to be able to function somewhat. I can’t bend down or move around too much as I get lightheaded but at least I’m heading in the right direction.

I will need to have lung function testing done to look for any permanent damage but so far my lungs seem clear and have hopefully escaped.

Luckily I kept out of hospital, it was scary enough, the nerve and joint pain was unreal.

Anyhow as a fit, well person with no co-morbidities or risk factors this has hit me really hard. It was unexpected and something for all to take very seriously as it’s the randomness of who it affects badly that is the scary part.

I’ve been told to expect a slow recovery but I should return to normal 😊 and eventually get back up Mt Lofty

Thanks for all your well wishes and support ❤️

I am so sick of live blood being used as a tool to show how bad "things" are. I wanted to show you guys how easy it is to be manipulated with these images and videos.

Just as with fixed and stained blood films done in a pathology lab, it is essential to look in the correct part of the slide and within the limited time allowance.

I've included a couple of examples below of how easy to make the blood results look really bad when in fact it's the wrong part of the slide for viewing and the sample is outside the recommended time frame for testing.

The first photo is taken correctly

Yep! 😂

Post for Pracs 🤓

Thalassemia.

My comments in a recent Prac page question regarding iron studies and FBE in someone with Thalassemia

Different types of Thalassemia and haemoglobinopathies (love that word!)

Very common in Australia due to our migrant population but it can also be a spontaneous gene mutation.

“I’m sure she would know which type as it’s a significant presentation but regardless for alpha and Beta Thalassemia, it is a defect in the production of globin chains in the Hb molecule so as much
as her iron stores are suboptimal, supplementing does not necessarily mean a huge increase in Hb because the iron is not being incorporated into the Hb molecule properly.

I would look at why her own stores are low rather than just supplementing where it won’t be used efficiently.

In response to her Thalassemia, her body will produce more red cells to increase O2 carrying capacity, many of which will be defective and there will be a higher turnover of red cells via the spleen due to their abnormal shape.

High demands and high turnover means high needs for all nutrients that go into making red cells.
B12, folate, B6 and Zn primarily and of course anything to help good bone marrow production.

Thalassemia of this degree are usually well compensated after having it from birth but the other nutrients are essential as well as stress management and good general health.”

Day 7 Post A V # 2 Test Update.

Continuing viral response, no inflammatory markers or platelet aggregation (sticky blood).

And I'm obviously happy on the inside! I kid you not, that "happy" neutrophil was taken today 😁

For those of you who asked to see blood analysis results after A Z. This is my sample after A Z #2.

Very little to report except an expected viral immune response with plenty of atypical (viral) lymphocytes, see photos and some minor liver stress markers.

Incidentally, I found I need to up my B's and drink way more water 😆
