Did you know the frontalis (forehead muscle) is the only muscle in the upper face responsible for lifting? It’s the muscle that helps raise the eyebrows and open up the eye area, which is why it needs to be treated thoughtfully. When it is overtreated, the brows can feel heavy and the eyes can look smaller or less lifted. As we get older, this becomes even more important because the frontalis often works a little harder to compensate for natural changes in the tissues around the eyes. Reducing its activity too much might soften lines, but it can also take away that lifted, awake appearance that most people want to maintain.
Anatomy is incredibly individual, and understanding how your muscles work together is essential for natural looking outcomes. This is why I always take the time to complete a thorough consultation before any treatment. Every face tells a different story, and it deserves a personalised approach.
