I’m so happy to be reintroducing myself back into Main Beach at Maxwells. For those who don’t know me, I’m Nurse Mon (), a Registered Nurse with over seven years in the aesthetics industry and a part‑time Registered Nurse at Gold Coast Private Hospital. Nursing has always been a huge part of my life, and I’m passionate about supporting people through both their health and aesthetic journeys, which I believe are deeply connected.

I raised my three children here on the Gold Coast, but before that I lived in many countries around the world. Travelling is still a big passion of mine and fits perfectly with my love of learning and staying curious. As a Main Beach local, you’ll often find me in the neighbourhood coffee shops, enjoying the local restaurants, or down at the beach walking or swimming.

In clinic, my interests range from ageing concerns to volume loss, and I have a particular passion for the bio‑regenerative space, which I truly believe is the future of our industry. Last night’s Sunekos launch at Howard Smith Wharves was such a beautiful event. The setting was stunning, the weather was incredibly hot, and it was the perfect backdrop to introduce this exciting new development in Bio‑Regenerative Aesthetics. Technology in our industry is evolving at a fast pace, and it’s amazing to see what’s now possible!

I wasn’t sure about sharing this.
But if it helps even one person take sun damage seriously, it’s worth it.

This is me after having a 'little' skin cancer removed from my nose. No makeup. No filter. Just the truth.

Please don’t worry, I was lucky. I found it early, I have a brilliant surgeon, and the scar will be minimal. But it’s a reminder: there is no such thing as a safe tan. Not from the beach, not from a solarium, not even from a “healthy glow.”

Sun damage isn’t just about aging. It’s about real risk. Please wear sunscreen. Please get your skin checked. And please know that beauty isn’t in perfection. It’s in honesty, care, and survival.
