Easter is nearly here and as your experienced Madison Chiropractors we want to urge you to look after your back this Easter break. Whether you’re travelling to see family, staying home all weekend, indulging on chocolate and hot cross buns, or going on wild Easter adventures with your family we have a few reminders for you:
• Get up and stretch - Sitting for extended periods of time whether on the couch or in the car, may have negative effects on the spine. In the car you could use a small rolled up towel behind your back for Lumbar support, this is a great way to help your posture during a long journey. Remember to have break whether in the car (or on the couch) every few hours to stretch your legs for a few minutes.
• Maintain good posture – Whether, you are in the car, wondering around the garden on an Easter egg hunt, sitting down to dinner or just sitting eating all your easter eggs it is important to keep your posture, so remember to stand up or sit up straight and hold your shoulders back.
• Relax – Sometimes when you are visiting or going away over Easter it can mean you’ll be interacting with a lot of people. It can be stressful, and stress can cause muscle tension and back pain, remember it is Easter and try to relax and enjoy the break.
