Wounds, trauma, and injuries manifest in various forms—physical, emotional, and egoistic. How we manage these experiences is entirely within our control. We can choose to be overwhelmed by them, or we can use them as catalysts for cultivating resilience, strength, and a clear sense of purpose.

The Law of Polarity suggests that everything has an opposite of equal measure. Just as injuries can cause destruction, they can also facilitate profound growth. The depth of our pain is often mirrored by our capacity to feel truly alive and well. As we heal, we learn to love and heal others.

Yoga Teacher Training in Sydney

HIA is very excited to open up its Yoga Teacher Training in a new delivery site in Sydney. The RTO will be responsible for Enrolment, Training and Assessment and issuing the qualification to the student. Classes and tutorials for Certificate IV in Yoga will commence on Tuesday 7th October 2025. Attendance is for 15 hours a week, on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Life can be exciting, but it can also be demanding. New routines, busy schedules, and the transition from freedom to structure often take a toll on our minds and bodies. You might find that more energy seems out of reach, especially if you experience chronic fatigue, exhaustion, or the daily stresses many of our students grapple with.

Stress often manifests quickly in the gut. Have you noticed signs such as bloating, sensitivity, or feeling unwell after meals? If you live with autoimmunity or other chronic health challenges, this digestive stress can feel even more magnified. Your gut lining works incredibly hard to keep you healthy every day. Sometimes, when there's no medical explanation for chronic digestive disorders, natural interventions such as yoga and meditation can help reduce distress. With this support, your gut lining can repair itself more effectively, calm inflammation, and promote smoother digestion. Without it, you might experience discomfort, sluggish digestion, or even signs of "leaky gut."

Dear  HIA/ Shanti Yoga students,

Well, it’s that time of year again! This week is end of term, so as it’s the last week of term, we’re having one of our very popular lunch parties!

Please bring some food to share, either savoury for lunch or a sweet (vegetarian (also no fish products please) and non- alcoholic). If you’d like us to try something from your country, we’d love to try it!

We look forward to seeing you for our party lunch at 12.15 (after Shantiji’s class and before her Satsang) this coming Monday 15 September!

LEARN TO DANCE

Dance is a joyful, expressive form of art that can bring numerous benefits. It fosters a deep sense of togetherness, and appeals to people of all ages, as, as people are drawn to the lively rhythms, vibrant costumes, and sheer fun that dancing offers. 

BEGINNER

We begin with simple moves and basic dance steps. Each step is broken down into easy-to-digest elements. This allows you to grasp dance moves better and build confidence.

RHYTHM

Strengthening your sense of rhythm is exciting. As you match your movements to different speeds of music you advance with your dance skills.

MOVEMENT

Dance offers a joyful way to reconnect with your body and tune into the present moment.

REGULAR PRACTICE AND GUIDANCE

Repetition helps you understand and remember dance moves better. Repeating the same dance moves reinforces learning and helps you master the steps. 

FREE DANCE

Experiment, creativity and showing initiative are encouraged in the free dance sections. It offers positive reinforcement and makes learning more enjoyable.

This inclusive workshop is open to everyone.

Hi everyone! My name is Kiki, and I’m currently studying a Diploma of Yoga Teaching at the Health Institute of Australasia. As part of my studies, I’m excited to host my second community event—“Draw your movie” art workshop!
