Yoga is stilling the movement in the mind.

Midlife often shifts the conversation, bringing confusion about the aging process. When mornings feel heavier, joints feel less elastic, and recovery takes longer—despite healthy eating and staying active—pushing harder is rarely the answer. This is not a lack of effort; it is your physiology. As connective tissues change and hormones shift, the nervous system can carry significant background tension after decades of "holding it all together.

When the body is subtly braced, adding intensity does not restore fluidity; it can actually reinforce stiffness. If you are experiencing this, I invite you to explore a different approach.

There is an appointed time for everything.
And there is a time for every event under heaven…
A time to give birth and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to uproot what has been planted;
a time to kill and a time to heal;
a time to tear down and a time to build up;
a time to weep and a time to laugh;

Happy 2026!
I hope you managed to enjoy a restful break.

The start of a new year is an ideal time for new opportunities, to set priorities and secure the support needed for a smooth year ahead.

I am writing to you from a peaceful Ayurvedic resort in Kerala, on the banks of the Indian ocean. Outside my window, the waves lap the shore, and inside it is incredibly peaceful. Looking out at palm trees swaying and the tropical trees in flower, the serene environment here offers a world at peace.

There is a lot happening in the world right now. While global and personal challenges can feel overwhelming, focusing on the small steps right in front of us is important. Please remember that you are braver, stronger, and more capable than you realise.

January opened up a window where two of our beloved teachers Sue and Cheryl are currently with me here in India. Before the year ramps up, they are taking this time to experience Panchakarma treatments, Ayurveda therapies, yoga, and meditation. We even made a pilgrimage to enjoy some "retail therapy" at the local shops yesterday.

I am deeply grateful for this moment of joy. We look forward to seeing you in February when we return to our full schedule. In the meantime, Hela, Hilary, Sonja, Glee, and Dalal are managing things at the helm.
