Well the Home Instead Santa and his helpers have been extremely busy last week before he kicks in tonight.

Every year Home Instead have a program called Be A Santa To A Senior and that is what was happening last week.

The idea of the program is to spread Christmas joy to those who are in residential care or do not have much support at this time of year.

We engage local primary schools to decorate Christmas cards to be distributed to the residents and spread a little happiness.

Last week we visited Regis Magnolia in Upper Coomera who had cards decorated by Upper Coomera State College, Heritage Lodge & Murwillumbah Greens decorated by Murwillumbah East Public School and on Friday Tweed River Community Care & Raffles with cards decorated by Tweed Heads Public School and St James's in Banora Point.
We also attended the Dementia Inclusive Ballina Xmas lunch and sang, laughed and shared joy.

Over the course of the week we delivered close to 500 cards and chocolates and many more smiles.

We are so proud to be involved in such an amazing initiative and love seeing our older community enjoying this special time of year.

As part of Queensland Seniors Month we are popping up here and there to help our seniors to understand how My Aged Care works and how to access care to support our community to live independently at home.

This week we are at Southport Park Shopping Centre, so come along and say hello.

We have lots of great free information.

See your there ! You will find us just in front of the Reject Shop from 9am

Last week we went to the movies. At Reading Cinema Harbour Town we hosted our clients and CAREGivers to a screening of "Take Me To The Moon" (they also supplied tea & cookies afterwards) and at Coolangatta Cinebar we hosted our clients and CAREGivers who were treated to a Gold Class Cinema to watch "The Way, My Way" 💎
One of the clients was attending the movies for the first time in 27 years when she saw Titanic!
Great fun was had by all and all are looking forward to our next day out.
