It’s Save the Koala Month! 🐨

There has never been a more important time to give endangered Koalas a voice. Sass is an example of the species’ plight as she is suffering from conjunctivitis, a symptom of chlamydia.

Chlamydia is one of the largest threats to the survival of Koalas. Chlamydia has damaging effects, including but not limited to blindness, infection, and infertility.
Koalas like Sass suffering from chlamydia usually spend 6 weeks in treatment and take a month’s worth of antibiotics.

While Currumbin Wildlife Hospital has already vaccinated over 500 Koalas against chlamydia, there is still a long way to go in protecting this species.
