Abdominoplasty and breast reduction (mammoplasty)

This patient had excess abdominal skin and re**us muscle separation of 5cm after multiple pregnancies, overhanging skin over tethered scar from previous caesarian sections, and low, heavy breasts post breastfeeding.

Dr Cronin performed a combined bilateral breast reduction and lift and radical abdominoplasty with re**us muscle repair, and removed her previous caesarian section scar.

The procedure took 4 hours, and the patient was an inpatient at Pindara Hospital for 4 nights.

Photos are taken at 6 weeks post-operatively, at which time the patient is back performing all of her normal activities, including swimming and exercise.

To book a consultation with Dr Cronin, you will require a referral from your GP.

9 weeks post breast reduction (mammoplasty) surgery

This patient presented with symptoms commonly associated with heavy breast tissue, including shoulder pain, deep grooving from bra straps, and difficulty finding supportive, well-fitting bras. As someone who leads a very active lifestyle—enjoying long-distance walking, hiking, swimming, and the gym—these concerns were significantly impacting her comfort and mobility.

A total of 1414g was removed from each breast, helping to restore proportion, reduce discomfort, and support her active lifestyle.

At 9 weeks post-op, she is healing well and experiencing improved comfort during day-to-day activities and exercise.

36 weeks post-abdominoplasty

This patient presented with a 31mm re**us divarication (abdominal muscle separation), along with ongoing back and hip discomfort following two pregnancies and significant weight fluctuations.

Abdominoplasty (commonly referred to as a tummy tuck) is a surgical procedure that not only removes excess skin and fat, but also allows for the repair of abdominal muscle separation, which can contribute to postural instability and discomfort in some individuals.

At 36 weeks post-surgery, this patient has achieved a well-healed result and reports a significant improvement in core strength and support.

Why do eyelids sag with age? 👁️

As we age, the skin around the eyes naturally loses elasticity and the muscles weaken. Fat can also shift or bulge, causing puffiness or drooping. This can lead to heaviness on the upper eyelids, affecting both appearance and, in some cases, vision.

A blepharoplasty (eyelid reduction surgery) may help restore a more open-eye look and in medically necessary cases, improve visual function.

This patient underwent a bilateral blepharoplasty. The after photo is 6weeks after her procedure.

📍A consultation is essential to determine if this treatment is right for you.
📌Individual results will vary.

How Do I Know When It’s Time to Replace My Implants?

Breast implants are not lifetime devices. While some remain trouble-free for many years, others may require replacement or removal due to changes in the breast, lifestyle, or concerns with the implants themselves.

You may consider reviewing your implants if you experience:

✔️ A change in shape, size or position
✔️ Visible rippling, asymmetry or ptosis (sagging)
✔️ New discomfort or tightness (possible capsular contracture)
✔️ Suspected or confirmed rupture (with or without symptoms)
✔️ It's been over 10 years since your original surgery
✔️ Concerns about breast implant illness or outdated implant types

📍 A clinical assessment can help determine whether your implants are still performing as expected or if it's time for revision surgery.

At The Coastal Clinic, Dr Cronin offers comprehensive breast implant reviews to guide you through your options, including replacement, removal, or lift procedures.

✨ 6 weeks after her first Sculptra treatment ✨

Sculptra is a prescription-only injectable treatment designed to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production. Rather than providing instant volume, it works gradually over time to help restore facial structure, support skin integrity, and improve the appearance of firmness and texture.

Results develop progressively over several weeks to months as collagen is regenerated. The number of sessions required varies based on individual needs, and outcomes differ from person to person.

📍Sculptra is not suitable for everyone. A medical consultation is required to assess your individual circumstances and discuss any potential risks.

📌 Performed by qualified medical professionals at The Coastal Clinic. This post is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice.

Understanding Facial Rebalancing

As we age, our facial structure naturally changes. Bone resorption, loss of soft tissue volume, and changes in skin elasticity can lead to a hollowed appearance, sagging, or imbalance between facial features.

Common signs include:
• Volume loss in the cheeks and temples
• Deepening of nasolabial folds
• Flattening or widening of facial contours
• Drooping at the corners of the mouth or jawline

Facial rebalancing is a non-surgical approach that aims to restore harmony by carefully replacing lost volume and supporting the skin’s structure. This is typically done using prescription-only injectables such as collagen-stimulating treatments or dermal fillers, tailored to each person’s anatomy and aesthetic goals.

Results are gradual and balanced when performed by qualified medical professionals, focusing on restoring proportion rather than adding volume for the sake of it.

📌 Treatments vary depending on individual facial structure, ageing patterns, and goals. A thorough consultation is essential to determine the most appropriate approach.

📍All treatments at The Coastal Clinic are performed by trained medical professionals in a clinical setting. This post is for general education only and does not replace medical advice.
