Circumferential Lipectomy, thigh reduction and augmentation with a mastopexy (lift) with internal bra and fat grafting

This patient came to see Dr Cronin after losing 50kgs with excess skin around the abdomen, inner thighs, and deflation of the breasts.

Dr Cronin performed a combined circumferential lipectomy, bilateral thigh reduction, and bilateral breast augmentation and lift in a single procedure. Implants were moderate projection Motiva 380cc’s, and internal bra and fat grafting were also performed.

This procedure took 8 hours and the patient had a 5 night inpatient stay in hospital afterwards.

Photos are taken at 6 weeks post-operatively, at which point the patient could return to all of her daily activities, including exercise and swimming.

Breast Reduction- Mammoplasty

This patient in her 20’s came to see Dr Cronin after suffering with large, heavy breasts with asymmetry her entire adult life. She had persistent neck and back pain, difficulty wearing normal clothing, and difficulty with exercising.

Dr Cronin performed a bilateral breast reduction and lift, reducing the right side more to create symmetry in size between the two sides. This procedure took 2 hours and was performed as a day procedure - the patient went home the same day.

Photos are taken 6 weeks after surgery, at which time the patient was able to resume all of her normal daily activities, including exercise and swimming.

Face and Neck lift with Dr Sparks

This patient came to see Dr Sparks with concerns relating to age-related changes in the lower face and neck. In this case, a combined fae and neck lift was performed, incorporating a deep neck lift technique with platysma fixation to the mastoid periosteum. Access was achieved using the lateral approach with incisions positioned in front of and behind the ears, as well as a submental approach beneath the chin.

The goals of such a procedure is to improve the jawline definition and neck contour in a manner that is proportionate, balanced and appropriate to the individual's anatomy.

A commonly asked question from patients planning an abdominoplasty or circumferential (belt) lipectomy is: “When are the drains removed?”

In this video, Dr Drew Cronin explains why drain removal is guided by healing and output, rather than a fixed timeframe. Keeping drains in place until they are ready to come out plays an important role in reducing fluid collection and supporting a smoother recovery.

Individual recovery varies, and drain management is always carefully assessed as part of post-operative care.

Circumferential Lipectomy and mastopexy (breast lift) with fat grafting

This patient in her early 30’s came to see Dr Cronin after losing around 55kg’s of weight with symptomatic excess skin circumferentially around her abdomen and flanks, and low, ptotic, deflated breasts.

Dr Cronin performed a combined circumferential lipectomy procedure with muscle repair and breast lift with fat grafting. Approximately 4kg of skin and redundant fat was removed, and 200cc of fat graft was used in each breast to selectively re-shape and recolonise.

This procedure took 6 hours, and the patient was an inpatient at Pindara for 5 nights after surgery.

Photos are taken 6 weeks post-operatively, at which time the patient is able to resume all of her normal activities of daily living, including exercise and swimming.

Removal and replacement of implants with internal bra and fat grafting

This patient had 13-year-old round smooth implants with capsular contracture, and right sided implant ‘flipped’ back to front.

Dr Cronin removed and replaced the implants with tear drop (or anatomical)- tall height, full projection implants of 545cc volume to align with the ni**le position and inflate all of the lower breast skin whilst still providing upper pole projection. Bra less cleavage created with use of internal bra and autologous fat grafting.

Photos are at 6 weeks post-op, and the patient is now able to go back to exercise without restrictions.
