What is the difference between an abdominoplasty and a circumferential (belt) lipectomy — and how do you know which procedure is right for you?

In this video, Dr Cronin explains the key differences between these procedures, including what each is designed to address and how patient anatomy, skin laxity and overall goals influence surgical planning. He also outlines how suitability is assessed during consultation to ensure a considered, individualised approach to body contouring.

If you are researching abdominal or body contouring surgery and want clear, evidence-based information, this is a helpful place to start.

Dr Cronin replaced them with 545cc anatomical implants back into the pre-pectoral position.

NEW BLOG! Skin First: The Shift Back to Natural Facial Aesthetics

Facial aesthetics in Australia is evolving.
The focus is moving away from over-filled lips and cheeks, and back to what truly lasts — healthy skin, natural facial movement and refined, subtle results.

More patients are prioritising long-term skin health over short-lived trends, recognising that when skin is well supported, the face looks balanced, refreshed and natural at every age.

In our latest blog, we explore:
• Why facial aesthetics is shifting toward restraint and longevity
• The role skin quality plays in natural-looking results
• How nutrition, hydration and sun protection support skin from the inside out
• Foods most consistently linked to healthy skin function
• Why skincare forms the foundation of any skin-first approach

This thoughtful, evidence-informed approach supports results that age well — without looking over-treated.

👉 Read the full blog on our website to learn more about the skin-first philosophy and how modern aesthetics is changing.

As always, individual suitability and advice should be discussed in consultation with a qualified health practitioner.

This procedure took around 6 hours, and the patient remained in hospital for 5 nights post-operatively.

Photos are taken 6 weeks post-op, at which time the patient is able to resume all of her normal daily activities, including exercise and swimming.
