This patient presented with concerns regarding excess abdominal skin following significant weight loss.

On assessment, she was found to have abdominal skin laxity, with mild abdominal wall separation and localised adiposity.

Following consultation and discussion of treatment options, including a lower body lift, an extended abdominoplasty was performed to address excess skin and improve abdominal contour.

An extended abdominoplasty differs from a standard abdominoplasty in that the incision extends further toward the hips, allowing treatment of excess skin across a wider area of the lower abdomen and flanks.

Abdominoplasty is not a substitute for weight loss and is most appropriate when a patient is at a stable weight. The most appropriate surgical approach depends on individual anatomy, tissue quality and treatment goals, and can only be determined following a thorough consultation and clinical examination.

This patient presented seeking breast augmentation to increase breast volume while maintaining proportions suited to her frame.

During consultation, measurements were taken and mild differences in ni**le position were noted. Implant size and options were discussed in detail, with 3D imaging used to assist with surgical planning.

She underwent bilateral breast augmentation using smooth round silicone implants (400cc) placed under the muscle (subpectoral) via an inframammary fold incision.

Breast augmentation is tailored to the individual. Implant selection and surgical technique depend on anatomy, tissue characteristics and patient goals. A thorough consultation and clinical examination are essential to determine the most appropriate treatment approach.

This patient presented with breast ptosis and wished to increase volume while also improving breast position. Following consultation and assessment, she underwent a combined breast augmentation and mastopexy procedure.

A vertical lift technique was used to reposition breast tissue and elevate the ni**le-areolar complex as part of the mastopexy component of the procedure. The implants were then placed in the subpectoral position.

Combined augmentation and mastopexy procedures are tailored to the individual and require careful planning based on anatomy, tissue quality and patient goals. The most appropriate approach can only be determined following a thorough consultation and clinical examination.

This patient presented with concerns regarding skin laxity through the lower face and neck.

Following consultation and clinical assessment, she underwent a lower face and neck lift. The procedure involves repositioning deeper facial tissues and removing excess skin through incisions placed around the ear and hairline.

Facial procedures are carefully planned based on each patient’s anatomy, skin quality and treatment goals. The most appropriate surgical approach can only be determined following a thorough consultation and clinical examination.

This patient presented with concerns regarding excess abdominal skin and changes to breast volume and position following multiple pregnancies.

On assessment, she was found to have abdominal skin laxity, a small abdominal hernia, and breast changes related to pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Following consultation and discussion of treatment options, a modified abdominoplasty with hernia repair was performed to address excess abdominal skin. A bilateral breast augmentation was also performed using anatomically shaped (teardrop) implants, selected to suit the patient’s breast dimensions and overall proportions.

A modified abdominoplasty technique was chosen to address lower abdominal skin while reducing the need for additional upper abdominal scarring.

Combined procedures such as abdominoplasty and breast augmentation require careful planning and are tailored to each individual. The most appropriate surgical approach depends on anatomy, tissue characteristics and patient goals, and can only be determined after a thorough consultation and clinical assessment.

This patient presented seeking breast augmentation to increase volume while maintaining proportions suited to her frame.

On assessment, she had symmetrical breast dimensions and was considered suitable for implant placement via an inframammary fold incision with subpectoral (under the muscle) positioning using a dual plane technique.

Breast augmentation is tailored to the individual. Implant selection, placement and final outcome depend on anatomy, tissue characteristics and healing response. A thorough consultation and clinical examination are essential to determine the most appropriate surgical approach.

Great to catch up with my good friend Tim Papadopoulos at the 28th Advanced Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Workshop in Melbourne this week.

Two days focused on refining advanced facial surgery techniques and discussing evolving approaches with colleagues from around Australia and overseas.

Ongoing education and peer collaboration are an important part of maintaining high standards in our field.

Always valuable to learn, share insights, and stay current.

This patient presented with concerns regarding fullness in the lower abdomen, along with a fluctuating weight history.

On assessment, excess lower abdominal skin was noted. After consultation and discussion of options, a classical abdominoplasty was performed to address excess skin and abdominal wall laxity.

Surgery involved elevation of the abdominal flap, tightening of the abdominal wall where appropriate, and removal of excess tissue. A supportive garment is worn during the recovery phase, and early light mobilisation is encouraged post-operatively.

Abdominoplasty is not a substitute for weight loss and is most appropriate when a patient is at a stable weight. Every patient’s anatomy, healing capacity and surgical plan are different. A thorough consultation and clinical examination are essential to determine the most suitable treatment approach.
