Following three pregnancies, this patient presented with abdominal muscle separation (re**us diastasis), along with excess abdominal skin and localised fat deposits.
After clinical examination and detailed discussion in consultation, a modified abdominoplasty was recommended to address:
• Separation of the abdominal muscles
• Excess skin
• Localised adiposity
An abdominoplasty is a procedure that may be used to remove excess skin and address abdominal wall laxity, but it is not a substitute for weight loss, and outcomes vary between individuals.
These photos show her result 1 year after surgery, once healing and tissue settling have occurred.
Every surgical plan is tailored to the individual, based on anatomy, tissue quality, medical history, and surgical goals. The most appropriate procedure can only be determined following a thorough consultation and examination.
