What a great time with Jett!

Boss Lady, Kathy, was asked to support Jett, at his home in Adelaide, so that his mum could enjoy some time away on a bucket list trip! Kathy flew to Adelaide to be met by Jett and his mum at the airport and transported to their home.

While Jett kept his usual routine with his weekday supports, he had Kathy on site to support him in his home routines, and helping out with Facetimes with mum and grandparents regularly.

But boy oh boy do the weekends look amazing!! The first weekend, Jett and Kathy went on a road trip for a couple of days to visit our friend, Cassandra, who has worked with Jett before by supporting him when he travels to Newcastle! Cassandra and her husband live a few short hours from Adelaide, and treated Kathy and Jett to an amazing fishing experience on the water. I hear the smile you can see in these photo's did not leave the entire time! Thank you Cassandra!

The second weekend, they stayed close to home, awaiting mum's return, but made sure to visit the zoo and see some of the beautiful animals and landmarks.

Thanks Jett and mum for trusting us and allowing us to have such a wonderful time supporting Jett!

Did you know, that we also can support those on an Aged Care Package? We have partnered up with Trilogy Care, an aged care provider, who can manage your package, and give you the flexibility to choose your own supports!!

Last week, Trilogy Care, who are based in Brisbane, but service Australia wide, visited our area on a 'Road Show', where we got to meet some of their important team, and Kathy got to speak to those on a package, or looking to apply for a package.

If you are on an Aged Care Package (Levels 1-4) or going through the process of applying and would like to speak with us about what we provide through this package, please reach out. We are happy to assist navigating this through Trilogy Care.

Welcome to our No Limit Community, Lisa!

Lisa came on board with us this month, after she and her house staff have been seeing us come and go supporting her housemate for the last few years. So Lisa didn't start as a stranger, and it has been a delight spending time with Lisa getting to know more about her and what she likes to do.

Since moving house fairly recently, Lisa has been wanting assistance to learn more about the local buses, and where they can take her, so our first shift, we started fairly close to home, with Waratah Village!! So far, I have learnt, that every shift starts off with finding a coffee!! And I am definitely on board with this!!!

Welcome Lisa, and we look forward to learning more and more and helping you with your 1:1 supports!

Our friend, Mark, loves going for walks and finding fun things along the way! Last week, while he was walking the track from Wallsend to Glendale with his Support Worker, they pushed even further than Mark had been previously, and found this tunnel/bridge underpass near Glendale Tafe, with mural paintings! The artwork is incredible and looking at how happy Mark is, we can tell he is proud of his efforts for this walk, and the reward to have his photo taken with these peices behind him!

Keep pushing yourself Mark, you never know what amazing sights you will find along the way!

Among all this rainy weather we have seen lately, Georgia managed to explore some sunshine for her week back with us after a week off for respite. Georgia and her Support Worker, Nadene, were able to enjoy a walk and ice cream/milkshake during Georgias supports this month!

Georgia was complaining about a sore knee, so a massage in the morning was called for, and it is so great to hear that she was able to walk as normal again afterward while soaking up the sun!

How are all our friends coping with these storms that hit last night, and are continuing throughout today?

Ausgrid has reported a phenomenal number of houses that have experienced, or still are experiencing power outages across our region.

Our wonderful friend, Jett visited us again for a few days over the New Year holidays.

Jett enjoyed a vist to Blackbutt to see the cute koala's, as well as dinner at a local hotel to celebrate the new year coming in, joined with his mum, workers and other friends to make it a great celebration.

How beautiful is the love that can visibly be seen in some of these photo's!!

Jett, we are so glad you had another lovely visit to join us for a few days, and we look forward to seeing you again next time!

As we welcome back our staff and participants to a fresh new year, we would love to congratulate one of our friends, Corey, on graduating high school in 2024.

Corey has been very dedicated to finishing his education, while gaining some work experience throughout the year as well as part of his schooling program, and ready to start the new year continuing his work placement and continue to gain these valuable skills.

We hope you are as proud of yourself as we are, Corey, and we look forward to seeing you continue to soar!

As the sun sets on the end of my working week, I would like to take the opportunity to send all our friends, participants, staff and followers a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

On behalf of myself and our Directors, Kathy and Maree, thank you to you all for such an incredible year filled with fun, laughter, sunshine, club shows, long walks, ferry rides, horse riding and more!

I look forward to what 2025 will bring with all our wonderful participants and staff and hope you all enjoy a wonderful and safe holiday season.

Our friend Ian, loves the outdoors and fresh air. Part of every day we support Ian, includes a lovely walk with his best mate Bonnie.

So far, December is turning on the perfect weather for Ian and Bonnie, with some lovely walks around Norah lighthouse, and even a trip out to Toronto for a walk and a swim, unfortunately Bonnie had to stay at home for this trip - but rest assured, Bonnie got a walk in locally before Ian and his Support Worker headed to Toronto!

We trust there will be some more lovely days for you to enjoy the sunshine before a short break over the festive season!!

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Our wonderful support worker, Trephina, supported Vicki to Lake Fair, where they ran into Santa, and enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea while doing some Christmas shopping for Vicki's family and friends.

Chris loves to make the most out of every day! Chris is extremely social and loves a chat and taking in some amazing views!

Last week, Chris started his day out with some morning tea at Blackbutt Reserve, followed by a drive into town, where apparently it was quite busy due to the protests going on, and Chris commented on the police presence, but he still enjoyed trying out the trike rides around the beaches and taking in the wonderful views!

After the fresh air of Newcastle Beach, Chris made his way to the Christmas Shop, to start getting in the Christmas spirit, then he wanted to find somewhere to eat his lunch, and have a game of pool, so a picnic in the park, followed by a hotel closer to home to cool off in some air-con and the pool cue!

Thank you for making our days brighter and full of fun and laughter, Chris. You are definitely a ray of sunshine.
