Holistic Naturopath | Women’s Health | Digestive Health | Nervous System Support | Children’s Wellbeing

I’m Katrina Froome, a degree-qualified naturopath with a warm, personalised approach to supporting women, children and families through all stages of life. My work focuses gently on gut health, hormones, anxiety, burnout, mineral balance and nervous-system regulation — helping you move from overwhelm to clarity, and from exhaustion to steadier wellbeing. I also use functional testing such as Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), Microbiome testing, and other specific investigations to better understand what your body may need — always keeping testing optional, and guided by your comfort and priorities. Consultations are available in-clinic at Springfield Lakes and Highfields (Toowoomba), as well as online across Australia and internationally. I believe your symptoms are your body communicating — and together we’ll listen carefully, support your whole system, and create a calm, realistic plan to help you feel more balanced, grounded and energised again.

Have you ever been told your blood tests are normal - but you still feel exhausted, anxious, or not quite yourself?

Your body works hard to keep blood minerals stable, even when your deeper reserves are depleted.

This is why looking at longer-term mineral patterns can be helpful in understanding the full picture.

HTMA in Real Life ✨

How I use HTMA in my daily life

HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) isn’t just something I run for clients — it’s something I actively use in my own health journey.

This is my personal HTMA, alongside the supplements I’m currently taking to support mineral balance, detox pathways and my nervous system.

HTMA shows us that health isn’t about one nutrient or one symptom — it’s about patterns, ratios and long-term balance.

Minerals = the foundation

Minerals influence:
• nervous system regulation
• stress resilience
• energy production
• detoxification
• hormone and enzyme activity

When minerals are out of balance, the body compensates — and over time, that compensation shows up as symptoms.

My HTMA reflects a slow metabolic pattern, meaning my system is more sensitive to stress and does best with gentle, consistent support rather than pushing or “forcing” detox.

Heavy metals & cadmium (a personal insight)

One of the key findings in my HTMA was elevated cadmium.

Cadmium is a toxic heavy metal that:
• interferes with zinc, iron, copper & manganese
• places stress on the kidneys, bones & nervous system
• can remain stored in tissues for 10–30 years

A personal factor for me is that I was a cigarette smoker in my teenage years.

This is significant because:
🚬 Ci******es are one of the highest sources of cadmium exposure
🚬 Cadmium accumulates in the body over time
🚬 Even past smoking — decades earlier — can still be reflected in HTMA

This is why HTMA is so powerful. It doesn’t just show current habits — it shows what the body is still holding onto and working to clear.

Nervous system support is essential

Mineral imbalances — especially involving magnesium, sodium, potassium and calcium — directly affect the nervous system.

When the nervous system is under strain, this can show up as:
• fatigue or burnout
• poor stress tolerance
• disrupted sleep
• anxiety or emotional reactivity
• feeling overwhelmed by everyday life

Supporting the nervous system is not optional — it’s foundational.
When mineral balance improves, the nervous system settles and resilience returns.

Why I use HTMA (and why I love it)

HTMA allows us to:
✔️ identify hidden mineral stress patterns
✔️ understand toxic metal burden safely
✔️ support detox without overwhelming the body
✔️ rebuild balance at the cellular level

This is exactly how I use HTMA in practice — personalised, targeted and respectful of the body’s pace.

Mineral balance matters.

I see the difference it makes — in my clients and in myself.

If you’ve tried “everything” and still don’t feel like yourself, it may be time to look deeper than standard blood tests.

✨ HTMA gives us that deeper insight.

If you’re curious about your own mineral patterns, HTMA is available through consultations either in person or online.
Hair samples are sent away for analysis, and results take up to 3 weeks to return. From there, we personalise support based on your body, not guesswork.

If this speaks to you, feel free to message me or book via the link.

✨ New Blog: Low Libido in Women ✨

If your libido has changed and you’ve been told it’s “just stress”, “just hormones”, or “just part of getting older” — you’re not imagining things, and you’re not alone.

Low libido is one of the most common concerns I see in clinic, yet it’s often dismissed or normalised. In reality, changes in desire can reflect much deeper patterns in the body, including hormone balance, mineral status, stress load, nervous system regulation, and overall energy availability.

In my February blog, I explore:
• why libido changes are not random
• the difference between hormones, minerals, and nervous system health
• low and high libido (something rarely talked about)
• how libido can shift across all life stages — not just menopause
• when it’s worth looking a little deeper rather than pushing through

This blog isn’t about quick fixes or doing it all yourself — it’s about understanding what your body may be trying to tell you.

If this resonates, please know support is available — and you don’t need to figure it out alone 💛

If your libido has changed and you’ve been told it’s “just stress”, “just hormones”, or “just part of getting older”, you’re not imagining things — and you’re not alone. Libido changes are often one of the body’s clearest signals that something deeper needs attention. Libido ...

What my patients don’t always see

When I review a follow up HTMA, I’m not just looking at mineral levels.

I’m looking at:

✅ Trends over time
✅ What the body is letting go of
✅ What systems are still under stress
✅ Whether symptoms match the chemistry

This is why regular HTMA testing matters - not just for reassurance but for accuracy.

Healing changes the body’s needs.

Supplements that were helpful 6 months ago may now be unnecessary, or even unhelpful. Your body may need something else to help support balance.

HTMA helps us stay responsive instead of reactive.

If you’re due for a review, or ready to start your own testing journey, I have availabilities this week and next.

Last week of school holidays… how are you and your child feeling?

With back-to-school just around the corner (and a long weekend coming up), many families are starting to shift back into routines again — lunches, early mornings, school bags, and busy weeks ahead.

For some children it’s an easy transition, but for others it can bring tummy troubles, sleep changes, emotional ups and downs, or back-to-school anxiety.

You might notice:
✨ increased worry or clinginess
✨ trouble switching off at night
✨ tummy aches, bloating or loose stools
✨ fussy eating or low appetite
✨ eczema flare-ups or recurring sniffles
✨ big emotions or overwhelm

If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone — these can be signs their nervous system and digestion need a little extra support.

If you’d like gentle naturopathic support for your child, I offer appointments in Springfield Lakes, Highfields (Toowoomba) and online.

💛 Feel free to message me if you have any questions or would like to book.

Have you noticed that as the new year begins, your body doesn’t always feel as energised or motivated as you hoped?

Many women start January feeling tired, anxious, bloated or hormonally out of balance — not because they’re doing anything wrong, but because their body is still responding to stress from the year that was. This month’s blog explores a gentle way to understand whether your body is running in a fast or slow metabolic pattern — and what that means for your energy, hormones and digestion.

Start 2026 with a clearer understanding of your energy, stress, hormones and digestion as you transition into the new year. Many women find themselves feeling tired, anxious, bloated or “off” after the holidays — not because they lack motivation, but because their bodies are running in either ...

I have always loved working with people and through Naturopathy I am able to assist you by supporting you to make the necessary changes for optimum health and to achieve a healthy work life balance.

Naturopathy incorporates both herbal medicine, nutritional medicine along with a lot of listening to you in regards to what is going on in your life. I graduated with a BHSc (Naturopathy) degree in 2013 from Endeavour College in Brisbane and opened my clinic in Moggill in 2014.
