🔬🎨 Our Kindergarten Two children enjoyed exploring science concepts through a fun and creative experiment using bicarbonate soda and vinegar to create colourful artworks. Watching the bubbling reactions sparked curiosity and excitement, while encouraging the children to ask questions, make predictions, and share their ideas.

This hands-on experience also supported the development of fine motor skills through pouring, squeezing, and careful mixing. Activities like this help strengthen learning dispositions such as curiosity, creativity, and persistence.

🌿 Our Nursery One children explored a Waitangi Day sensory tray filled with feathers and sand, giving them the opportunity to discover and enjoy a variety of textures through hands-on play. This sensory experience encouraged curiosity, gentle exploration, and early learning through touch and movement in a calm and supportive environment.

Activities like this help build confidence, concentration, and independence as children engage with new materials and experiences. These moments support Outcome 4 – children are confident and involved learners.

📚 Our Kindergarten Two children have been enjoying quiet reading time outdoors in our creative reading space, using recycled tyres to create a comfortable and inviting area. This unique environment encourages children to relax, focus, and develop a love for books while connecting with nature.

Spending time reading in outdoor spaces supports children’s emotional wellbeing, helping them feel calm, confident, and secure in their learning environment. These experiences reflect Outcome 3 – a strong sense of wellbeing.

🏮 Today we celebrated Lunar New Year together at the centre! The children explored the meaning of the celebration through conversations, creative experiences, and collaborative artwork. You’ll be able to spot their beautiful creations displayed throughout the hallways and foyer as you arrive.

Celebrating cultural events helps children develop respect, understanding, and a sense of belonging within a diverse community. We value recognising and learning about many traditions from around the world, supporting Outcome 2 – children are connected with and contribute to their world.

🐣🥚 Miss Cari has bought in some chickens for us to hatch 🐥🐓

The excitement of hatching chickens gives children a hands‑on experience with life cycles, responsibility, empathy, and the wonders of nature. From observing the eggs to caring for the chicks, children build scientific understanding, patience, and a deep sense of nurturing as they watch new life unfold before them.

Once the eggs have hatched, they will be heading off to Miss Cari's mum's farm to live their best life 💕
