It has been a nervous wait, but we are thrilled to share that the Regional Jobs Committees have been featured in the 2025-2026 Queensland State Budget, with an additional two years of funding announced yesterday!
This continued investment is a strong vote of confidence from the Queensland Government in the work being done across the state to connect local people with local training and employment opportunities.
The Springfield Regional Jobs Committee was established in 2018 when a group of forward-thinking local leaders came together with a simple but important question: "Are we skilling people for the jobs that exist in the Springfield region?"
Since then, we’ve been proud to play a key role in driving workforce outcomes for our region. With over 1 million connections made each year, we remain committed to our vision:
✅ Ensuring every local has access to employment or training opportunities that meet their needs
✅ Helping every employer find the right staff to grow their business
Through targeted events, industry engagement, community education, and our popular Springfield Jobs Portal, we’ve worked hard to support both jobseekers and employers across Greater Springfield and beyond.
We would like to sincerely thank Ros Bates MP, Minister for Trade, Employment and Training, and the Crisafulli Government for their commitment to skills and employment in Queensland.
This announcement signals a bright future for local employment programs and we look forward to continuing to deliver positive outcomes for the community.
Stay tuned, we will share further updates as more details become available.
Together, we’re building stronger, more connected regional workforces! 💪
