The formation of a "capsule" of scar tissue around an implant is a normal. However, if the capsule becomes unusually hard and starts to contract around the implant, this is called a contracture. This can lead to both aesthetic problems and, in extreme cases, pain in the breasts.

*75% of all capsular contractures occur within two years of the patient’s implants being placed.
*To help prevent contractures, implants are minimally handled during surgery, implants are placed under the muscle, and patients are instructed on how to massage the breasts after surgery.
*To treat a persistent contracture, surgery may be required to release or remove the capsule.

We were honoured today by the visit of Dr. Richard Hamilton, a leading Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon from Adelaide. Dr Hamilton was interested in learning our specialised technique of Breast Augmentation by Fat Transfer.

We now have over 10 years’ experience with this technique which was developed by Dr Allan Kalus as an all-natural method of breast augmentation.

Word is spreading of our success and we have been privileged to look after women from all over Australia, for both primary breast augmentation and secondary breast augmentation- where old implants are removed and the breasts reconstructed using only fat.

Dr Hamilton is looking forward to introducing this procedure to his patients in Adelaide.
