“Thinking about seeing a psychologist… but worried you’ll have to tell your whole life story in the first session?”

You’re not alone. Many people feel nervous before their first psychology appointment and wonder what it will actually be like.

Here’s the truth: the first session is usually much calmer and more structured than people expect.

In your first session, your psychologist will usually:

• Help you feel comfortable and explain how therapy works
• Ask about what brought you in and what you hope will change
• Learn about your background, strengths and current challenges
• Work with you to clarify goals and possible next steps

You don’t need to have the “right words” or a perfect explanation.
The first session is simply about starting to understand your story together.

For many people, the biggest surprise is how relieving it feels just to talk openly in a safe space.

Is your child suddenly struggling at school? You’re not imagining it — changes in mood, resistance to school, or homework battles can be signs something’s off. Read our guide on what to watch for and practical steps to help your child thrive: https://wix.to/WhothQv

As a parent, you know your child better than anyone. So when something feels “off”, you tend to notice it, even if it’s something that you can’t quite pinpoint yet. Perhaps there are more big emotions at home. Maybe they resist going to school all of a sudden, or perhaps homework time ends i...

Is this just a phase… or something more?

Many primary school children take time to settle — but sometimes concerns around attention, learning, anxiety or social differences don’t ease with time.

It is a question many families are sitting with right now.

If you have been wondering whether your child’s challenges are part of typical development or worth exploring further, our upcoming free online workshop for parents and educators is designed to help bring some clarity.

In this practical one-hour session, we will cover:

✔ Common signs to watch for
✔ When an assessment may (or may not) be helpful
✔ Practical ways to support your child now
✔ What next steps can look like if concerns continue

Many families find it reassuring to have clearer guidance early on.

📅 Tuesday 17th March at 7 pm or Wednesday 18th March at 9:30 am.
