Izumi Inadera is the present director of Oki-Do Yoga Melbourne, arriving in Australia from Japan in 1992. She brings with her over 25 years of teaching experience. Izumi trained extensively in Japan and the wealth of her approach derives from a complementary knowledge base: Tea Ceremony Master (35 years with Edo-senke), qualified Western Nutritionalist, Macrobiotic and Japanese Cooking Teacher, and Sotai and Shiatsu practitioner. She regularly returns to Japan to continue her training. The Melbourne Centre was established in 1984 by Takao Nakazawa, and is the longest continually running Okido Centre in Australia. ABOUT OKI-DO FOUNDER - Dr. Masahiro Oki (1919-1985)

Dr. Masahiro Oki established Oki-Do Yoga from his knowledge and practice of eastern and western healing traditions and many different religions. ¨The society for searching truth through practice¨. The essential characteristics of Oki-Do yoga is that it unifies many fields of human experience, and the teachings are understandable and practical in the modern life. It is a way of searching for truth through daily life. Dr. Masahiro Oki founded the International Oki-Do Yoga Institute in Mishima, Japan in 1967.
