This day cannot pass without making a special mention to our director Rachael who celebrates her birthday today πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚πŸ₯³πŸŽˆ

Today we celebrate not only you, but the heart of our clinic.

Your leadership is not loud, it is steady, ethical, deeply considered, and profoundly human. Every day you hold space for clients with compassion and integrity, and you hold space for your RMTs with guidance, mentorship, and unwavering belief in our work. That kind of leadership cannot be taught, it is lived.

You model what it means to practise with both clinical excellence and genuine care. You remind us that documentation matters, boundaries matter, supervision matters, but above all, people matter.

Because of you, our clients experience safe, thoughtful, high-quality support. Because of you, we as your staff feel supported, challenged, and inspired to grow.

The ripple effect of your dedication is immeasurable.

in every therapist who feels more confident in their clinical reasoning, your influence is there.

Thank you for the countless unseen hours, the reflective conversations, the advocacy, and the standard you set for ethical, heart-led practice. You lead with both courage and kindness, and that combination is rare.

May this year bring you the same steadiness, joy, and support that you so generously offer to all of us.

With deep gratitude and celebration,

Your team 🎡✨

Progress begins with trust, and trust makes courage possible.

Standing at a microphone can look simple from the outside.
But moments like this represent safety, preparation, and weeks of supported growth.

Performance in music therapy is not about perfection, it’s about expression, confidence, and self-belief.

This is what happens when a client feels safe enough to share.

Every word spoken is a win. 🎡✨

Within music therapy, singing functions as a multimodal clinical intervention, engaging respiratory control, phonation, auditory–motor integration, and language networks.

It does all of that while still working on emotional regulation, social engagement, and neuroplastic change.

Wind instruments support respiratory and vagus nerve function.

Playing instruments like the flute, trumpet, or didgeridoo involves controlled breathing, stimulating the vagus nerve and supporting emotional regulation and calm states.

Did you know…..

The human voice is the oldest musical instrument.

Before any physical instrument existed, humans used their voices. Archaeological and anthropological evidence suggests singing likely pre-dated language and was used for bonding, soothing infants, and communication.
