Do you have lymphoedema?
Many women develop this after treatment for breast cancer, but are rarely warned about it. Damage to the lymph nodes, or removal of them, can lead to lymphatic accumulation and significant pain/discomfort/lack of movement.
Exercise is always recommended, but when someone is recovering from cancer treatment, it is important to listen to your body and not overdo it.
Lymphatic drainage massage is highly recommended, as are compression garments that can help drain the fluid. Using specialised lymphatic gloves, can also be really helpful (and very affordable), and can be used even when in bed or sitting in a chair.
I will always recommend working with a naturopath (like me!) who can make sure you are getting good nutrition and provide supportive care to aid in recovery.
