It's so easy to get caught up in your own head. There's often not that voice of reason in there to help stop your thoughts from spiraling.
Even though it can be hard to open up to those close to you on what you are actually internally dealing with, speaking about it out loud can help you feel so much lighter. Verbalising your worries often helps you realise they've grown bigger in your head than they are in reality and also opens the door for others to help you.
Yes, that can make you feel vulnerable but you'd be surprised how many people feel the same way or are quietly going through something similar.
You aren't alone, I promise you. I've been through this and right now, someone close to me is too. But as soon as they started talking, and stopped holding everything in, I could see their stress melting away with their tears.
Having a good old cry can be so therapeutic. It not only cracks open the brave face that you've been putting on for the world, but helps open the doors to healing..
We aren’t meant to be silos, trying to hold it all together on our own. Our nervous systems weren’t designed to cope with constant news, notifications or our modern-day pressures. Let’s start normalising asking for help, being open with our mates and letting others support us.
Yep, I know that last bit is hard but we weren't meant to do this alone (& we don't have to).
Today is World Mental Health Day. A reminder to check in, reach out and speak up. Connection heals more than we realise 💛
