✨ Introducing Rod Tonkin ✨
Rod Tonkin, a resident at Eventide Homes Stawell and an avid Collingwood supporter, wears many hats.
As our Resident Advocate, he directly communicates resident concerns to our CEO Gary, ensuring their voices are always being heard. This innovative approach, recognised by auditors as a unique practice in aged care, empowers residents and sets a new standard.
“When auditors from the Commission were here, they interviewed me and said we are the only aged care home that has a resident as an Advocate for other residents. They’re going to tell other homes to copy our way of doing things.”
Rod also co-chairs the General Residents’ Meeting, now a consumer advisory committee, further strengthening resident involvement.
