Today at Chatterbugs and Wiggle Worms, we brought the classic story to life with props, sensory play, key word sign, and communication devices!
From swishy grass to oozy mud, our little explorers had so much fun on their adventure! 🌿💬🎨

📚 Inclusive Education in Action!

When we visit our friends at school, our goal is simple: make everyday classroom activities more inclusive 💡✨

Here’s a great example 👉 We adapted a reading comprehension worksheet so a student could participate using partner-assisted auditory scanning. With a few small changes, they were able to engage meaningfully in the same task as their peers 🙌

💬 Pro tip: Always include a “Not sure / Don’t know” option.
Why? Sometimes a student isn’t responding not because they’re disengaged — but because they’re unsure and don’t want to get it wrong.

We used Talking Mats with partner-assisted scanning to help one of our friends share how she feels about everyday activities at home and school.

School term is nearly back! Today we are out presenting to school teams on all things AAC. This morning was Key Word Sign and this afternoon is all about creating opportunities for communication in the classroom. 👩🏻‍🏫
