We are excited to announce our GP Dr James Ashby is now practicing full time at Stirling GP.
Offering a wealth of knowledge having spent the last seven years as a rural GP in Port Lincoln, as well as providing locum cover to rural and remote clinics and hospitals throughout the state.
Dr Ashby specialises in skin checks, excisions and (vintage cars) he is now accepting new patients.

Asthma Week is Asthma Australia’s annual awareness-raising activity held in the first week of September each year for the more than 2.8 million people with asthma in Australia.
The aim of Asthma Week is to “put asthma on the kitchen table of all Australians” which means to get people talking about asthma with family and friends and to improve awareness of the impact this chronic health condition has on so many lives.
Do you have asthma or respiratory symptoms?
Have you discussed with your regular doctor an annual spirometry and an Asthma Action Plan?

It's Daffodil Day again tomorrow and again Stirling GP is supporting the Cancer Council. Daffodils are $5 a bunch and this year we have added some lemons and limes fresh from the garden all for a donation to this great cause.

What is a pessary?

Here at Stirling GP, Dr Cathryn Mills, one of our women’s health GP's, is trained in the use of pessaries.

A Pessary is a medical device used for the treatment and management of pelvic organ prolapse (which can be experienced as a bulge in the vulval region or issues with incontinence (or a weak bladder). It is usually made of a soft plastic or silicone.
A pessary will support the vaginal tissue and can be helpful to alleviate symptoms without surgery.

Stirling GP now welcomes Dr Jade Tregoweth to the team!
Jade completed her medical degree and internship in regional Victoria in 2018. She then worked within hospital obstetric and paediatric medicine before completing GP training in regional SA. In 2024 Jade achieved her advanced procedural qualifications as a GP Obstetrician and currently provides antenatal, labour and postnatal care at the Mount Barker Hospital.

Jade is a passionate provider of:
-antenatal (pregnancy) shared care
-postnatal and baby care
-family planning and contraception including Mirena / IUD and Implanon insertion
-medical termination (abortion) of pregnancy
-sexual health including LGBTIQA+ affirming care
-menopause management

Outside of work Jade is busy running around after her two small children, trying to find time to exercise, daydreaming about holidays, forgetting to organise date nights with her husband and socialising with friends.

This week we welcome Dr James Ashby, General Practitioner to our dedicated team of health professionals.
Growing up in the Adelaide Hills, Dr Ashby completed his medical degree in Adelaide and was a junior doctor at Flinders Medical Centre.
Before joining our practice he spent seven years as a rural GP in Port Lincoln, as well as providing locum cover to rural and remote clinics and hospitals throughout the state.
Clinical areas of interest for James include family medicine, preventative medicine, skin checks and excisions.

Dr Ashby's consulting days are Thursdays and Fridays.
