We’re proud to be partnering with the Gippsland Emergency Relief Fund (GERF) to deliver a new series of free community workshops across Gippsland.

These workshops are designed to help households get started with the Resilient Building Council’s Bushfire Resilience Rating Home Assessment app and learn from locals who have received Multi-Hazard Resilience Ratings assessments that include Storm and Flood Resilience Ratings, thanks to the National Emergency Management Agency.

📍 Workshops are running from June to July across six Gippsland LGAs.
📲 Booking essential – register now: https://gerf.org.au/rbc

Together, we’re building safer homes and stronger communities across Gippsland.

This project has been made possible by our wonderful funding partners and local Councils - NAB Foundation, Marinus Link and Gippsland Community Foundation, Bass Coast Shire Council, Baw Baw Shire Council, East Gippsland Shire Council, Latrobe City Council, South Gippsland Shire Council, Wellington Shire Council.

Oarfish are rarely seen, but when they are it is traditionally viewed as a bad omen.

However, when one of the incredibly long fish was found by a dog walker on a beach in Tasmania it inspired more delight than trepidation.

“It was fantastic,” said Sybil Robertson, who made the remarkable discovery on Ocean Beach near Strahan on Monday. “I just knew it was something unusual and weird,” she told The Guardian.

The silvery fish, linked to tales of sea serpents, is one of the longest bony fish species in the world
