Stay healthy, active, and supported this winter! ❄️🥦🏃‍♀️

Cold weather can challenge your immune system, energy levels, and mood - but with the right nutrition, exercise, and healthcare support, you can stay strong and resilient!

🍊 Citrus fruits (oranges, grapefruit, lemons) - packed with vitamin C to boost immunity, support skin health, and ease joint discomfort. 🥬 Leafy greens (spinach, kale, Swiss chard) - rush in folate and magnesium to Munich brain function and mood stability. 🥕 Root vegetables (sweet potatoes, carrots, beets) - filled with complex carbs for steady energy and blood sugar balance.

💧 Hydration is key! Even in winter, dehydration can cause fatigue and affect mental well-being. Prioritise water intake and hydrating foods to stay refreshed.

🚶‍♀️ Stay active! Regular movement can boost circulation, support joint health, and improve mood. Whether it’s a brisk walk, yoga, or strength training, keeping your body moving helps combat winter sluggishness.

🚫 Avoid energy crashes! Processed snacks may provide a quick boost but can lead to sluggishness. Instead, fuel your body with nutrient -rich options: ✅ Nuts and seeds ✅ Fresh fruit ✅ Greek yogurt.

👨🏾‍⚕️ Your healthcare team is here to help! If you need support with nutrition, exercise, or winter wellness. Don’t hesitate to reach out to the team, call ☎️ 03 4120 0500 to schedule an appointment.

Pregnant women between 28 & 36 weeks can now receive the free maternal Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) vaccine through the National Immunisation Program (NIP).

Getting the RSV vaccine during pregnancy is a safe and effective way to shield your newborn from RSV during the first six months.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) leads to respiratory infections - affecting the nose, throat and breathing passages, including the lungs. RSV can cause severe illness in infants and young children, and adults can also be affected. Most RSV infections occur in late autumn and winter.

To protect yourself and your unborn baby from RSV, call Stratford Medical Centre on 03 4120 0500 to book an appointment.
